Wonderful country. Stay away from the northern end of the malay peninsula unless you have a death wish--you don't want to get caught up in the insurgency. I highly recommend going to the island of Borneo and checking out some one of a kind species; orangutans, beautiful Birds of Paradise, also many endemic species only found there. They are clearing forest like mad there, so check it out soon! Try the Durian fruit.
