  1. i think it was good for the dogers they definitly needed a better batter in there but i think good and bad in a sence to the red sox because mannny was not a very good outfielder and gave the other teamates problems but he was also a homerun hitter a very good power hitter

  2. STUPID

  3. Good - he owned the Twins; at least he is in the NL.

  4. For all the people who think that Red Sox fans just gave up on Manny Ramirez, you're wrong. it's a lot easier for somebody to say that when they're not a Red Sox fan, and who hasn't watched him over the seven years he has been playing on this ball club.  You try dealing with his attitude for seven years and maybe you will think and have a different opinion on Manny Ramirez, besides he is a Hall of Fame player.

True Manny Ramirez is a big power bat.  Yes it is a big loss, but it is also a big gain.  Having someone in your ball club that is so disruptive is a big blow.  He was not going to produce the numbers that he is very well capable of producing.  Why because he doesn't carry any more.  He not hustling out plays, and rolling on the ground like a lunatic. Calling his friends during innings.  And that is just to name some disrupting acts by Manny Ramirez.

I feel very sorry for Jason Bay coming into Boston and trying to fill the void that Manny Ramirez left.  But that does not mean Jason Bay cannot do it.  It's by all means is not saying that Jason Bay is even close to Manny Ramirez, because quite frankly he is not.  But he is not a bad player.  He has the same numbers this year as Manny Ramirez, and he was hitting in a pictures ballpark.  It's going to be a lot easier for him to hit in Fenway Park, because of the Green monster being so close.  The distance is only 310 to the famous monster.  If that doesn't boost up Jason Bay's average I do not know what will.  Jason Bay has 64 RBIs this year so far, he is going to get a lot of opportunities and drive in a lot of runs. just look who he in front of him; Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia, and David Ortiz.

I do not think the Red Sox made out as well as they could have, but I do not think it is a total bust.  You still get a quality at-bat with Jason Bay, and you do not get an attitude like you would with Manny Ramirez.

  5. good for the yankees, lol. he and big papi both used to scare me sh-tless when they were due up.

  6. good for the angels too lol i guess manny will have to get use to the annual red spanking angels give the dodgers every year

  7. lets think about this

if youre gonna make that blockbuster trade deadline sort of deal you have to make your team the best in the league and try and win a championship...the fact remains that the dodgers are better, but not good enough to compete with chicago, philadelphia and milwaukee. manny might give them the 85 wins theyll need to win the nl west but thats about it

the red sox gave up manny ramirez today as well as brandon moss and craig hansen

in return, they got jason bay. while the sox are still such a great team the deal doesnt really make a whole lot sense on their part...those two youngsters and manny for bay? i dont get it

the pirates are the winners today and are now not far off from being contenders once again

  8. manny being manny

I say great for both squads.  boston gets that mess out of their hair (not to mention that Jason Bay is having an almost identical year as him) and LA gets a nice batter in their lineup

  9. -Good for Yankees. (For obvious reason...)

-Good for Dodgers. (This is a no brainer, too)

-Bad for Red Sox. (Too bad for the bean town...)

-Good for Manny. (He's Freeeee man now!!)

-Bad for Joe Torre. (A former Yankees manager to manage a former Red Sox slugger...Manny being Manny...Good luck to Joe.)

    -Good for AL East pitchers.

-Very Bad for NL West pitchers. (Maddux, Webbs...watch out. Here he comes. )

-Good for the fans at Dodger stadium. (More HR balls to catch.)

  10. Manny should remain in the boxing ring. Go Pacman!

  11. HOW CAN HE SING WITH THEM WHEN HE HAD MY HOPES UP TO GO TO THE MARLINS!!!!!! he has better chance of winning a title with the marlins than dodgers

  12. Dude that's awesome I'm sooooo exited for him to plat tom. its gonna be awesome!! Good for the Dodgers! And sucks for the Red Sox!!

  13. i think it's great for the dodgers...if there's any manager in baseball that can make it work with manny it's joe torre, he's dealt with so many star personalities in his time with the yankees...you kind of have to feel bad for the red sox, they're in a no win situation here, they couldn't keep manny because his behavior was unacceptable but they know that there is no one out there that can give them full value in return...i think boston did what they had to do but it's really going to cost them coming down the stretch

  14. Real good for the Yankees. Manny's numbers against them are ridiculous. Torre will have his hands full. The first step is to have him get a haircut. Maybe if he acts like a baseball payer people would respect him better. It seems Manny has a disrespect for the game and it cost him the respect of his team mates. Boston will miss his bat for sure.

  15. i think it's an alright trade. the guy we got jason bay who is amazing. this year he's hit 2 more hr's than manny and is trailing by very little in all other hitting statistics, however he is a great fielder (no offence to manny but he's not) he's faster steals more bases, and he is ALOT cheaper.

  16. Boston messed up.

  17. good for dodgers
