Question:

What do you think about McCain's VP pick?

If McCain were to be elected and something happened to him do you feel confident that Palin would be able to competently take over the White House? I am just floored over the idea that she could potentially be my commander in chief. Who is this Gov. from Alaska? What has she done to deserve the bid for VP? She supports creationism in public schools!!! Does anyone out there that supported Hillary and who will not support Obama vote for McCain especially for his VP pick? If so why? Please help me to understand. All opinions are welcomed. I would love to hear about what your views are on the topic. Do you think that it is absolutely ridiculous or do you support this VP pick. She is no Hillary by any stretch of the imagination. Do you think that he's seriously trying to get her supporters? Frankly as a long time fan of the Clinton's I'm insulted, does he really think that American women are that ignorant?

  1. Botox Barbie is in deep shat. Better watch those long nights in the Oral Office!

  2. She is a disaster.  Gov. of a small population state for only 20 months.  Before that she held some small obscure commission post and was two term mayor of tiny Wasilla, AK and now we should believe that she was the best qualified he could pick to be a heartbeat away from governing our nation. I guess McCain was a liar for all those months that he said experience was important, it apparently is not.  All Republicans should be embarassed.

  3. When I first heard, I thought for sure he was gonna find a way to say "there's been a big mistake, the insider tip the media received was wrong, and I actually chose [so and so]."

    But no. He's totally serious.

I have definitely observed that the mass majority of women have felt insulted by his choice. He has also destroyed the "inexperience" argument he was using against Obama by choosing someone newer than even he.

Now the Obama ticket actually has more combined experience than the McCain ticket.

  4. Haahahahahaha, youre worried about Palin in the VP seat, but you are comfortable with Obama in the drivers seat???

    Hahahahaaha....

  5. lol it's funny cause it's only 4 years and McCain has more experience than Obama and Biden put together and if Palin does take the role as president at least she has more experience than the Obama who does wanna be president.

  6. She's FANTASTIC!!!! Great move McCain

  7. it sure looks like he is trying to use her to gain the female vote, but there a couple of other reasons behind his pick (not saying I agree with his pick)  1. She is very anti-abortion, which McCain is more moderate about, this will help him with the catholic vote as well as help him with socially conservaitive people.  2.  He wants to be known as a "maverick" picking her helps him convince people he is.

My opinion overall is that he thinks it will help him get the woman vote.  I think his choice was a bad idea.  It shows desperation and he could have picked someone with more experiance (his campaign after all has been based upon experience)  I don't think it was ridicolous pick, I think it will help him in the religious sectors, but as far as swaying Hillary supporters I think only a very small percentage will fall for that ploy.  Having said that I do think that a small percentage of women (very small) will vote for him because she is a woman.

Regardless I can't help but to feel that this whole election kind of sucks, I feel McCain is too old, and I think Obama is too far left.  The one thing I do know is that whoever wins will be stuck with the total and complete failure and mess that the Bush administration has left as a legacy of an idiot for a president.

  8. I was also a hillary supporter but McCain just totaly thinks he can trick us! I am voting obama

  9. I feel better about a moderate McCain taking office than the most liberal senator in congress taking office.

I am a moderate, and a Hillary supporter. Obama's choice of the third most liberal senator in congress leaves no representation for moderates in his ticket.

As far as "insulting Hillary supporters", Obama already takes the cake on that one.

McCain is closer to the moderate ideal, and will compromise with us.

Obama's compromises are to simply ignore us and snub our candidate.

I will vote McCain/Palin this time, and Hillary Clinton in 2012.

  10. She is obviously not experienced enough to be president. She admitted she didn't even know what the Vice President did.

It shows McCain is a liar saying Obama needed political and military experience to be president.

Look, I am fine with someone like Obama, Kennedy, and so on not having much political experience compared to McCain, Nixon, Johnson, whatever.

But a beauty contestant with a BA in journalism? I mean, she has no *equivalent* experience. She has not really been involved much with national or international politics, she has no writings. Maybe if she were a journalist and we could see her thoughts and opinions over the years, fine. But the only thing she did was win a 'Mis Congeniality', well, I would have to say forget it.

  11. She rocks!!!

  12. I was open and waiting for Nov to really make my choice, BUT then McCain came out with Ms. Palin.  Who is this woman?  She's from Alaska the 60th state!  She's been Governor for 2 years... woopie!

    I'm insulted as a woman.

I loved Hiliary and thought that she would have been a great president, but if McCain thinks that he can just put anyone w/ breast and *** on the ticket and women are stupid enough to vote for him, then he really doesn't get it.

So what she's Governor, it's Alaska dammit w/ the population of 600.

And she's lying already, she was all for the road to no where bridge, now she gets on stage and make a statement how she was against it, and told the "good ole boys" No.

I'm not going to sit this election out because of McCain and Obama, my vote counts and I'm sorry, but Obama just might have scored one more w/ me.

    I'm disappointed in McCain.

And for those that say, she's only the VP.  The VP might have to step into the President's shoes at any time, especially in McCain's place... he's over 70!  What condition will this country be in if she's has to take over.  You must take this into consideration.  Elections are important to every American.  We've had Bush for 8 years and although McCain's policy were too close to Bush, I still considered him, but this last stunt has pissed me off.

If he wanted a woman... w/ strength, background and is known, he could have pick Condoliza (however you spell her name), but Sara Palin... who the h**l is she and what makes her a good candidate for VP.

Come on people, I'm not trying to get anyone to vote for Obama, you do what your heart tells you, but this is scary.  McCain met her once.  You're going to tell me he was so amazed, smittened, blown away by her political views and  accomplishment that he looked over Roomney, Liberman, etc.

    Come the h**l on.

  13. I have new found respect for McCain with his choice of Palin. She is remarkable. How nice that she is a real person and not a lawyer looking for a book deal or to line their pockets with real estate deals. Palin is just what we need in Washington with McCain.

  14. Moot point.

Oprah is still behind Obama so it's a lock.

  15. Very smart go McCain!!!!!

  16. Let this play out, Monkey.  Sarah Palin will put on a great show next week.  And Republicans will tell us that she has a compelling story, and isn't she impressive, and she has done some stuff in her short career, and we need to judge her by her character, her intelligence, her charisma, her heart, her words, her beliefs.  And then Democrats can say, "You know what?  You're exactly right.  That is a good way to judge a candidate. Good point."

  17. And an Obama presidency makes you sleep soundly at 3AM. Geeze.

  18. Excellent choice and that proves McCain is the one that really wants to change.

  19. well first off I think shes really really really hot!!!!! Okay now that I got that out of the way.....In more ways then one she has more experience then obama.  Shes actually made lots of important decisions that effect the everyday life of millions...Obama has voted on some national legislation.. Big deal. As far as im concerned she's more experienced then Obama.  Shes a tough women, whos not an elitist...She went to a public highschool....obama went to private....oh yeah and shes hot

  20. I think she is a smart, confident woman who has done wonders in Alaska with the budget and educational reform since she took office many years ago.

  21. you women are so touchy...

you feminists seriously need to chill out....its jsut a vice presidential selection thats all...

  22. Shes a cougar

  23. Alaska is owned by the Oil Industry and so is she.

  24. the only reason he chose her is because HE THOUGHT he would get Hillary's voters but most of them are for Obama now so his plan didnt work.
