  1. I THINK THAT HE IS DESPERATE, AND  JUST HANDED THE PRESIDENCY OVER TO OBAMA,I DO NOT THINK THAT OBAMA HAD THE EXPERIENCE BUT AT LEAST HE HAS SURROUNDED HIMSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT CAN BE OF GREAT VALUE, IF THERE BE A NEED  , BUT McCAINS CHOICE...IF HE IS IN, AND SUDDENLY  PASSES, THAT WOULD LEAVE  PHALEN TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY NOW I ASK YOU, DO WE REALLY WANT THAT TO HAPPEN. AS A WOMEN, I FEEL INSULTED!!!!

  2. A great person, that cares about the people.

  3. We'll see in November, but I think it radically improved his chances of taking the election.

Assuming no skeletons in her closet and precluding Obama pulling a rabbit out of the hat, this election will probably go to McCain.

  4. More Reactionary Pandering.

I heard that a major U.S. Animal Protection Society is supporting Obama because he has always cared for his 3 German shepphards well.

McCain hears this so he goes and buys 16 Great Danes and films himself running through the grass with them.

    Thats called reactionary pandering.

  5. Palin sure fired my 5 daughters up and nothing fires them up about politics, I've been harping at them for years to be sure and vote and all it took was Palin coming along to move them, even my 6 year old granddaughter wants to vote.

  6. I do have a lot of friends that are women and they are insulted with his VP pick and i think McCain is an idiot for picking a woman just to get women's vote...they're a lot of women who wont fall for his choice

  7. Good choice.She is a smoking Hottie.

  8. * She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.

        * Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.

        * She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.

        * Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.

        * She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.

        * She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.

        * How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

What in the h**l is McCain thinking?  I didn't like him before, I certainly don't like him now, nor do I trust his wisdom or leadership ability.

    As far as Palin:

I know some of you think she is the second coming (for McCain and the GOP) but personally, her positions make me vomit.

  9. Excellent choice

    Blue collar for McCain

  10. Its an interesting choice. If mcain thinks he is going to pull the hillary votes he made a mistake. Palin is pro-life, anti-g*y rights, pro-drilling for oil on american soil and is incredibly conservative. Most of hillary voters were pro-life, pro-g*y right and pro-environmentalism.

It was a great choice for mcain though in the fact that they totally stole the thunder from the obama camp. it seems like everybody has already forgotten about obama's speech at the democratic national convention because they are so focused on finding out who the heck palin even is, so in that regards, a genius move. I just dont think they are gonna beable to pull any hillary voters to their side, just because she is a woman.

Strategy aside, its really scary to think that the person who will take mcains place if he dies in office has only been a mayor of some small alaskan town, and govener of a state so disenfranchised with the rest of the united states that it has become a refuge for people who want to "escape" from the lower 48 (think: into the wild). The possiblity that mcain will die in office is huge, he is in his seventies, has had cancer 4 times amidst other health issues. Is she ready to become president? Haha not yet.

  11. Transparent as scotch tape.  Thinks women are stupid enough to fall for it.

  12. I think McCain just committed political suicide with that pick.  She has been governor for less than 2 years.  Before that she was mayor of a small town with a population of about 8,500.  She is supposed to be an ethical politician, but she is being investigated for abuse of power as governor.  She believes that creationism should be taught in public schools.  McCain thinks intelligent design and creationism should be taught.  Palin does not have good judgment, and she is not ready to lead if something were to happen to McCain in office.  She has ZERO foreign policy experience.  This is her first time on a national stage. McCain is clearly pandering to women voters, but women are not as dumb as he thinks.

  13. Excellent Choice.

She makes W seem like a populist!!!

    Biden/ Obama  2008!!!

  14. Couldn't have been better.

  15. What a weird presidency it would be. I can't imagine these two getting on as leaders.

  16. I'm worried because I feel she doesn't have much experience.  Nothing against her personally, but I don't feel she's worthy to have reins on America. She didn't have much experience when she was granted the position she holds now.  We need experience, the world needs work in lots of areas.

  17. It was just what I needed to want to vote this year!

  18. I think Palin is an excellent choice. Look at how much angst is already apparent in the democratic party. They know they've been one upped and probably now realize what a mistake they made not selecting Hillary as their VP choice. The Obama/Biden ticket is doomed to failure in November.

  19. It's obvious that he is only doing that to get more votes from people. He is an evil b*****d.

  20. That choice was pretty stupid if you were trying to gain female votes.  He's lost more logical Republican women than he gained otherwise.  Pro-lifers were going to vote for him anyway.

    Latest polls agree.

  21. typical. short term. instant gratification

  22. A long shot, Hail Mary, gamble, but probably the be shot McCain had.   It was a desperation move, but probably the best he could make given McCain's chances.

As a candidate....I think she's unqualified for the position, especially given McCain's age and health.   I think her political views are extremist and would scare the h**l out of most Americans when explained.

I think feminists and Hillary voters will actually be insulted by the choice.   It's an affirmative action pick (Palin) compared to a highly qualified woman (Clinton).   Palin is a token candidate....there were better, qualified, woman in the RNC that he passed over.

  23. She is naive. He only uses her.

  24. When you can't do the job, send in a woman.  BUT MAN...that WHINEY VOICE OF HERS...it will drive anyone over the bend.

Arrogant like the rest of those republicans too...how dare she think she's even WORTHY to ride on Hillary's tailcoat??

    He's toast.

She DOES look like a librarian in one of those nasty p**n flicks doesn't she???

Good boy "fox news"...women love yanking the chains of men like you...but the only thing she's ever going to do to your smoking gun is castrate it.

  25. Great Choice.  It's over for Obama and the Democrats chance of winning this election.  They blew it.

  26. Sucks. Good going McCain.

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

        * She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

        * Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

        * She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

        * Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

        * She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

        * She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

        * How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting a photo-op with her 5 kids. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

*She will shoot you with her AK 47. (accidentally of course) VP's have it like that.

*She crossed the line and interfered with law enforcement tin the attempt to have her ex brother in law fired. This what occurred, she got the boss that wouldn't fire him fired.

Sounds like more of the same with the lawyers Bush had tanked.

  27. I really like her.  She honestly doesn't have a buttload of political experience, but she has more than Obama.  She is a great speaker, but unlike Obama, she actually talks issues, too.  Her reformer past also impresses me.  She knows working class issues, family issues, and she has business experience.  She may only be viewed publicly as slightly above-average, but I think that will change eventually.

Keep, in mind, I'm a moderate, not a conservative, but I like her strong stances on certain issues where I side with conservatives: anti-abortion, pro-gun, pro-drilling.

  28. Good choice. She's a strong pro-life woman.

    McCain '08!!!

  29. He thinks all women will vote for her just because she's a woman.  He only met her once.  He's pitiful.

  30. Absolutely fantastic.

  31. McCain/Rove is out of their minds.  McCain is losing his supporters - the independent voter
