What do you think about Naples? Is it dangerous to go??

It's not 'dangerous' in the sense of visiting Iraq or Somalia or Chad would be.  It's fine, so long as you keep your wits about you, and wouldn't do anything in a large-ish city that would attract crime.

It's no less safe than any other city of comparable size.  And the mafia thing has been blown way out of proportion.  The main problem there isn't crime, but getting the bins emptied!

In normal times it is pleasant enough, there are a lot of pickpockets though, so you have to take care. Avoid the local markets, apart from the pickpockets there is a lot of extremely dubious trade taking place there. There are 6 areas of the city where taxi drivers refuse to go, so just stick to the main tourist areas.

Not good to visit now as the rubbish strike has been going on for weeks and the city isnow a serious health risk

Don't go on your own. It's nice but terribly seedy. As for the smell, well they haven't cleared the bins for months now and the rats are taking over.
