I think Oprah sold her soul by getting to deep into politics..

Get a clue.  

People on TV make their living through advertising dollars.  Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, Bill O'Rielly, etc. market to viewers that are very interested in listening to Sarah Palin and so she would be an excellent guest on their programs because their viewers are interested in someone that is advancing Pro-life, Abstinence only s*x education, unlimited gun rights, close public schools type issues.

Oprah's producers obviously believe their viewers, generally in opposition to some or all of those issues, will get all the Sarah Palin that they are interested from other sources and so she will probably not sell much in the commercial slots of the Oprah program.

Oprah has a right to decide which people she wants on her show.

I would be curious to see how Palin would give an interview on Oprah. If she wins the liberal female crowd it could turn the election. But Palin is so extreme so I doubt she could make a positive impact, unless they don't talk about her religious platforms.

I can see why Oprah is reticent.

Plus Oprah is a victim of sexual assault -

and Palin opposes abortion to victims of sexual assault.

Plus Oprah wants to see Obama is elected - why give free press to the other side?

I think it demonstrates her total lack of character, unfairness, bias and the power that she mistakenly thinks she has over the voters.  I haven't watched the Oprah soap opera in many years.

There used to be an FCC rule that when networks aired political points of view, they had to offer equal time to the other side of an issue or election. Ronald Reagan did away with that just before he killed off Social Security by dissolving its stand alone financing which up to then had a growing surplus.

If Oprah doesn't want the dog in makeup on her show, it just shows good taste.

No, she doesn't want to enable Palin to spread more of her lies (like saying Obama has never passed ANY legislation or worked with ANYONE "across the aisle"). I'm sure she'd have Palin on if Palin agreed to resist the lying, misdirection and exaggeration she's being trained to sprout.

It doesn't matter whether you agree or disagree with a person's views or policies--just don't LIE about them! That perverts the entire system.

Finally Oprah does something good.  Not allowing the over exposed Palin on her show with her brood.  Oprah is right, no one wants to see the preggo teen and the beaten down boyfriend holding hands.  To see the poor baby exposed to the camera so everyone can see he is Down syndrome.  The camera happy Piper playing with her hands and jumping in front of the camera.  Puleeese.  Enough already!!!!   No Oprah don't back down on this.  Remember you will get a super high position if you play your cards and your bank account right with the Barack crowd.  Keep the Palin babe off the TV.

Oprah is in the entertainment business and selling "soap" on her program.  She is responsible to schedule guests which she thinks will best appeal to HER audience, not the Republican's audience.  

I am a Republican and while I think this shows a bias that Winfrey has it is her show and she can do what she wants.  She, and others of her staff, are huge backers of Obama and she has no requirment to offer equal time on issues.  Is this unfair?  Maybe, but if her audience only gets their information from her show I think we all know what they will do come November and it shows the level of intelligence of those people.  

Besides, aren't there enough other avenues of information for more intelligent people to make an informed decision, don't you think?

I think she's afraid of Sarah Palin. Palin is a smart conservative woman. I've had the pleasure of listening to some interviews with Palin and she's articulate and knowledgeable. In a brilliant interview with economist/analyst Larry Kudlow, Sarah Palin blasted Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for recessing congress for a 5 week summer vacation before even allowing a debate or an up & down vote on off-shore drilling. She wasn't afraid to say that was idiotic. I think Sarah Palin can hold her own against any interviewer. Obama doesn't go on any hard news shows except for the ones that Fawn all over him.

Don't let the fact that she doesn't have an Ivy League education fool you. Some of her toughest critics are Ivy League feminist liberals and what are they talking about? Sarah Palin's hair!!!

I don't care about TV and Oprah can do whatever she wants but as a business woman, she should realize that people must be pretty tired of Obama's highfalutin' bloviating rhetoric that's big on pomposity and devoid of substance.
