  1. A positive step for the country.  This is an elected democracy and not a dictatorship.  If the people want a vote let them, she can obviously vote no and express her opinion.  Not allowing a vote is obscene.  Her decision is a good decision.

  2. I think she got some money from the oil companies.  What do you think?

  3. I think it doesn't matter. I think everyone wants to look like they're doing something about gas prices by saying this, when offshore drilling won't have any effect on them anytime soon.

Call my cynical. I'm old. I've been listening to politicians talk about doing something about energy independence sinced Jimmy Carter was asking us to turn down thermostats and wear sweaters 30 years ago.  They haven't done anything about it, and I see no need to single out Pelosi as being particularly hypocritical or useless.

  4. it is never to late to flip flop.

  5. I think I don't care what her stance is on anything I still have to work and pay my bills.Offshore drilling will solve nothing.Gas is only $4.45 a gallon. Does everyone work at Taco Bell?

  6. I guess she bowed to pressure but in the long run people who want to drill and drill will be shocked at how little difference this will make except in the beauty of the area.

  7. Sure makes her and Obama look like followers, not leaders

  8. I don't think compromising is the same as changing one's stance.  Pelosi still opposes increased offshore drilling, but if allowing something of an increase will convince Republicans to fund some renewable energy projects, then it's a good compromise.
