It's squeaky, but also quite unusual. Personally, i like her voice in some songs but not others. In Take a Bow, it sounds far too squeaky. In Pon de Replay and If it's Lovin that you want (her early singles), her voice suits the music.

I think she has an amazing voice. It's so distinct that you know it when it's her singing.

Unique. I have never heard a voice like that before. Once I hear her song, I know its hers. Like her voice is not coming from the normal place..like u said. From her nose, very likely.
