What do you think about Russia & its invasion of Georgia the Country?

So when is WW-III going to take place and are we near the end of the bible?

Russia invaded as a result of Georgia's assault on the breakaway province.

They ended up shelling a peace-keeping shelter that Russia had in the area and killed quite a few people. Not only that, but there are many Russian citizens in the area.

In my opinion from what I've read, Georgia created the conflict and Russia responded. Perhaps the response wasn't as restrained as it should be, but it is Russia after all. It puts the US in an awkward situation since Georgia has the third most troops in Iraq, but if they're in the wrong...

I don't approve but I'm not surprised. Georgia is well within Russia's sphere of influence and I doubt any major powers will be going to war over this.

Russia did not invade Georgia.

Georgia invaded South Ossetia.

South Ossetia won their freedom from Georgia in the early 1990s.

So I think Georgia got what it deserved.  A swift kick in the nads.

I find it risible that the Soviets... er Russians call their troops "peacekeepers". They are occupying a section of a foreign country.

WW III has been ramping up for quite some time now.

Are we at the Biblical "End Times" many say it is coming VERY soon, many say perhaps 20-40 years.

The authors of the "Left Behind" Series have a great book called "Are We Living In The End Times" if you are seriously wondering.  They realize that nobody will know that it is coming, but spell out why we have more reason to believe that it will happen in this generation than any previous generation had.

Dont expect apocalypse yet. Russia didn't do anything on Iraq and Yugoslavia, so US will not do anything about Georgia. A lot of talks and no walks.

This conflict is very old, so there a lot of reasons to fight, but if you are interested why Russia went into Ossetia - it is because of reputation. There was no choice left.

Tshinvali a city where 45000 "separatists" live (who are russian citizens) is completely destroyed. So Russia went to protect its citizens. If it wouldn't there would be questions if Russia can protect itself in the future. Somebody will try to do something like that again for sure. So Russia wants to show that if its citizens are under fire it will not close its eyes on this.
