  2. I live in Gibraltar so I go into Spain a lot as Spain and Gibraltar are just separated by a border. Around 6 thousand Spaniards come into Gibraltar to work every day and many of us Gibraltarians live in Spain as the accomodation there and shops (supermarkets) are much cheaper than here. People are very nice, my brother is married to a spanish girl who is a lovely person. The food is supberb especially all the nice fresh fish and shell fish. I have not been to Madrid or Barcelona but I would like to go to Madrid one day especially now that Iberia is flying straight to Madrid and vice versa

  10. I absolutely adore Spain, coastal and inland. I have been fortunate enough to explore a least 1 new village every week. Barcelona I have been to a couple of times and Madrid is on the agenda for this year before it gets too hot.But my favorite village is tucked away between Campillos and Ronda and it is called Cañete La Real, practically ignored by the tourists, but in all fairness its not well publicized with Ronda just being down the road. Recently the village square and streets leading off it have been renewed, but in a way that is in keeping with the old style, ie cobbled. Its truly idyllic and has some beautiful countryside surrounding it. I would love to live there but my job keeps me where I am for the time being.

As for the culture, well there is not enough space on the whole of yahoo to include it all. Christmas, three kings, fantastic. Semana Santa, awesome, and all the ferrias, holidays and feast days in between. I love the sense of family values Spain has that many other countries seem to have lost along the way. Also the Spanish people are far more tolerant to foreigners and the laid back attitude should be commended and not scorned upon when the shops are shut for siesta.

As for the food, well that is as diverse as the country itself. East of Malaga the tapas and local dishes are totally different to the west, and inland also has its own specialities.

Why did you have to ask this question? because now I've got so much stuff swimming around in my head and can't get it all down on paper as it would take all night
