  1. I think Spain sounds like a pretty cool place! My ancestors are from Spain, and so I have always been wanting to go there. As for the people, I suppose that some are welcoming and not too threatening. One guy at school spent a year in Spain last year, and said that it was pretty cool. :) Your question reminded me of "Spanish Caravan" by The Doors!!

  2. Spaniards are some of the best people in the world. they are usually very friendly!

  3. We moved to a small village inland from Velez-Malaga in January 2005, and can only say that we have been accepted and welcomed  by our 'vecinos' (neighbours) who are all Spanish.

Rarely does a day go by without one of them calling with a bag with some tomatoes, or strawberries or peppers or.......the list of their produce that they are proud to share with us is endless - and always it is a 'regalo' or present!

In turn we offer a 'tapa' of something we are having for dinner for them to try, and have got to know who has very conservative tastes and who is a little more adventurous! We have attended a funeral of a neighbour, and the wedding of another's son, and without exception have not been treated as outsiders.
