Ok Sri Lankan is the Nationality much like Swiss live in Switzerland.A Sri Lankan comes  from Sri Lanka.

This was a former British colony called Ceylon.

The present regime is stocked with people of Sinhalese origin.They are  Buddhist with very different sentiments.There are Ethnic Tamils who are either Christian, Muslim or Hindu.

This country is going through a 30 year unresolved conflict.

The strife has caused too many people to leave to other countries.It is estimated there are more Sri Lankans outside Sri Lanka than inside.Then again the people multiply more ( give birth) more outside where there are facilities and peace.I have heard the country is in a bad shape.

A Tamil Sri Lankan might not call himself Sri Lankan.

Not much to be honest. I hear about that place on the news once in a while.  Usually it is because of some natural disaster or other civil problems.  It is not on my "to do" list.  Sorry if that offends you... I just don't see it as a top tourist attraction.

I've met a few of them living in Malaysia.  They were nice people.
