What do you think about THE OFFICIAL SAT STUDY GUIDE from college board?

I just ordered it and i wanted to know if it was effective in preparation for the SAT. Can you tell me what it perfected in and what it lacked. thanks!

Princeton Review is better. Collegeboard can only give you the "official" (c**p) parlor tricks and recycle the most decrepit tests they can dig out. Cuz, well....it's collegeboard. That's not to say they're bad or anything, but you would do better buying from a company that has more leeway to stick whatever they want in their books (without break any "laws" of course, lol, *coff* Karen Dillard's *coff*).

Didn't even read it. Want to know what I did in preparation for my SATs? Absolutely nothing. I got Adavanced on everything but Math [my worst subject].

Unless you're really trying to get an excellent score, it's a waste. You either know it, or you don't.

I thought it was helpful in letting me know how well I was doing. The practice tests were helpful, but the information was not really shockingly new. I mean, it's common sense stuff but the questions are just worded wierd. So it's a good practice book for sure!
