  1. well during the kidnapping, Italian have been released by terorist, but American soldiers slain by terorist in Iraq. Because Italian have good connection with Libya, and American have not. That's why US soldier are angry at us when we are celebrating the victory.

the story is about US soldier who is pathetic, and have been sentence in absentia, should be gone for extradition

    and slain by terorist.

And also for your information 20% of Libyan terorist are Italian origin, and most Italian muslims are Libyan decents. So it's understandable that Iraq terorist can negotiate better with Italian than US negotiator.

  2. I am at D1 Camp Shield in Baghdad as a contractor.  One thing you do not do is speed up to an ECP-entry control point-  like the article says-if you hesitate you are going home in a box.  I'm sorry this happened, but i see people hauling *** all over the city in the few times I've been "outside the wire"--you don't know if they're going to stop or not--these vehicles HAVE been stolen and used against coalition forces in the past.  just saying......

  3. This was entirely the fault of the Italians. They shouldn't have tried to run the check point.

  4. US soldiers are generally highly professional and competent. This shooting, while unfortunate, goes into the category of different perspectives from different viewpoints, and a "God's own" truth will never be known.

  5. American soldiers are the best on the planet, bar none! The U.S. fighting force are as much humanitarians as they are warriors; save for an infinitesimal few who generate bad press. For the number of humanitarian missions undertaken each year by U.S. or joint U.S./Foreign forces, how many actually get reported on?

The wars in the Middle East generate a lot of media; but the media that is generated serves as a distractor from a large portion of the U.S. Military mission, which is to provide aid to those who need it (which does actually serve the primary goal of defending the U.S.).

Those few in the Services who do harm, who ignore and willfully break their oaths, are also captured in the media spotlight; and this serves as blinders for the world on what the U.S. Military is really about.

    Cheers!

  6. I think they're amazing.  We don't give them enough credit.  We should give them a break once in a while.  And we should bring them home from wherever they shouldn't be.

I realize the article is about a soldier being tried in court.  I don't understand why you included a link to that story.  It's pretty irrelevant to your question.  Let the courts decide.  One soldier's actions are not representative of all of them.

  7. They are the most highly trained and trustworthy soldiers on the planet. America is one of the few armies that seldom participated in acts of civilian brutally.

  8. The men and women who serve in our Armed Forces are, as a whole, a group of which we can all be proud.  The reason exceptions make the news is that they are rare, and that is what we must never forget.

  9. If he felt that his life was in danger, or that his troop was in danger, he had a split second to react. It may not be right, but I don't think his actions speak for every single American soldier... Let alone any country's armed forces. If this was say a British, or Australian, or even another Italian soldier involved would the hype be as big? It's an accident in an area that has a lot of turmoil happening. I think the more important matter would be to keep everyone's families in our thoughts and prayers, for those of all countries involved in military strife.

  10. I was one, so I'm a bit partial. I love them and think they KICK ***!!! If you've never soldiered, you don't know the amount of sacrifice these brave men and women endure every day, especially when deployed. Sure, there are always a few bad apples in every barrel, but in this case they don't spoil the whole bunch. They are dealt with, ofttimes severely, and they make the rest of the bunch that much better and that more distinguished. Hooah!

  11. I can understand your disgust with the actions of this one individual, but is it really the basis for a question about ALL soldiers? My brother is a soldier scheduled to deploy for Iraq in 2 weeks for his 2nd tour. I think he's an amazing, courageous, hardworking man that deserves support and respect for what he is doing in service for our country. We can't judge the whole based on the actions of a single individual.

  12. Enough of hasty generalization. One doesn`t represent the whole.I`m pretty sure that if my US counterparts knew about the skeptism back home, they`d be stripped of their morale.

I served as a conscript in my own country`s military for 2 years which I never asked for,and made some friends from your military and saw the harsh life they`ve been always coming through in foreign soil.

Yes,the Bush administration may have a craze for war and you don`t need to support them, but the personnel that `s actually participating in the war must have all the respect they derserve not depending on the wars they fight but just for the fact they`re contributing to the military,

One thing that I only like about my military is that since service is mandatory, everyone knows and understand the incredible efforts that the military makes to serve the country. In countries whose military is based on purely volounteering efforts like yours, may raise crazy questions like some people ask,and I find that why militaries should mantain a drafting system.

Keep the skeptics to your self, Amercian people. Why the  critics?I personally don`t agree with the wars your administration started, but I do know very much how your military serves your country with the expense of laying their own lives in danger everyday. The US army is already getting bugged enough.

  13. I completely support the U.S. Military and do not judge them because of one bonehead.

  14. From what I have seen of them they seem like they are overly aggressive. Unfortunately the excuse used that we shouldn't judge the army by the actions of one or two doesn't hold true. The barbaric ging ho attitude seems to be the norm for all the u.s. troops.

From what I have seen of them they seem like a bunch of bullies who have no idea about what they are fighting for or the people in whose country they are fighting.

It is hard to forget the images from Abu Graib or the other terrible images that leak out of u.s. soldiers taunting locals or shooting their sheep or making children say "I love pork" in return for water.

Some of them may be brave and worthy people but I cannot judge the U.S. army on the basis of this minority. For the most part they seem like overly aggressive bullies with very little education. If you call them brave then they are not 100th as brave as the children who have to go to school with these people all around them ready to shoot at the slightest misunderstanding.

They have a choice about being in a war zone. The people who they terrorise do not. I have no sympathy for American soldiers.

  15. throughout modern history, the American military is the only one who has consistently been greeted with flowers, gifts and cries of HALLELUJAH!

    doesn't that tell you anything?

  16. I think we are just fine.  Just like normal people we have a few bad apples.  To post this and feel justified, would be like me, posting serial killers, rapist, child molesters and thieves on here and asking eveyone what they think of civilians.

  17. They are the best there is.  Oh and I am answering your question, not clicking so stupid link to a story about what one or 2 guys might have done.

  18. what do you think about a speeding car coming towards you in a time of war ? lol would u just stand there and let it be ... if u havent been there u shouldnt judge at all
