The man is a very special talent and is one of the truly iconic sportsman competing today who, in his field, is one of the all time greats. That is a term banded about often to describe this weeks sportsman of the year but in his case it is true and deserved. To my mind Valentino Rossi and Tiger Woods are perhaps the only two people currently performing in major global sports, who can fall in to that category.

Irrespective of if he wins another race or world championship in his life or not, he is one of the all time great motorcycle racers and I feel priveliged to have been lucky enough to have seen him race on many occaisions. The only other two who can hold a candle to him, in my opinion, would be Giacomo Agostini and Mike Hailwood and I was not lucky enough to see them live. Valentino Rossi really is that significant.

the man is a phenomenen, a true great who has brought motorcycle racing on leaps and bounds with his charisma and abbundance of energy and fun the guy is that good we should bow before him
