Using and electrical pump system to compress air in a built in air tank and when air is under sufficient pressure it may be released at moments when more power is needed-air no weight-cheap-can plug in to replace at night acts as propulson-tank can be part of car.acts like jets.

  1. I think it's a poor idea.

    It would be heavy, and reduce your overall fuel economy.

    It would take up room in an already small car.

    It would be an unnecessary complication.

    It would be more expense.

    It wouldn't contribute that much extra power.

    It would be noisy.  Ever stand next to an air compressor in a gas station or repair garage?  Think of that on a small scale.

    It would be slow to fill the air tank.  You need a decent sized piston in the compressor pump to get any sort of volume in a reasonable time.  So it would either be working very hard and fast, or you could use this to boost your power maybe once a day.

    It could be dangerous - what if you've got a thousand or so PSI in that tank, and you get in a wreck?  What happens if that tank ruptures?
