First of all, Lea is right on the money here.  My dear God in Heaven people, "swimming and diving" is right next to "snooker and pool"!!!

Secondly, you have no idea the kind of money they can offer you at Playboy.  When actually presented with the opportunity, I think a lot of people would go for it, more than you'd expect.  It's a free country and she can do whatever the h**l she wants.  The P.C. police hasn't taken away all of our freedoms quite yet.  For basically doing some relatively tame, nude glamour shots, she'll receive a small fortune.  Everything in Playboy is so airbrushed and photo-shopped you could almost make the argument that it isn't even her on those pages.  This isn't hardcore pornography.  90% of Playboy is poorly written articles and advertisements and reviews for yuppie, elitist merchandise that none of us will ever be able to afford.

As for being a role model, who freakin' cares?  I think it's high time that people stop idolizing celebrities and start emulating the good people in their own lives.  I'm so sick of hearing about Paris and Branjelina and Kobe and Hilliary Clinton and Kelly Clarkson and every one of those self-absorbed, overpaid pretty people.  The kind of attention paid is so pervasive that I would literally have to herd goats in Nepal to avoid hearing about them ad nauseum.  So, since it's pointless to try to live in a modern society and think I can ignore them, the best I can do is focus on what's really important.

What's with the need of the female athlete to pose nude these days? I feel a strong opposition towards the idea for several reasons.  First, I think it is morally wrong to publicly expose yourself in this manner.  More importantly, I think it takes away from a female's accomplishments as an athlete.  Sure, she will gain a copious amount of extra attention now, but I don't think it's quite the attention she is striving for.  Many will view her more for her naked poses now than for her athletic abilities. And as for a role model, I think it really lowers her stature among the young girls especially.  When you are an athlete, the spotlight is constantly shining on you with the  most demanding expectations.  I personally think that her choice to pose nude is going to besmirch her image in sports.
