  1. A branded title simply means that it has been "totaled" by an insurance company, this could indicate that it was involved in a traffic accident, or sustained enough damage that when estimating the repairs, they would exceed the value of the car, or close to the market value. Some times a vehicle can be repaired for less than the estimate, usually by people who don't figure there entire labor cost into the price. Many vehicles are purchased from salvage auctions at significantly lower costs and repaired by body shops to keep there employees busy durring slow periods, then but back on the market. The problem with reconstructed vehicles is that they are only as good as the repairs made.

You must protect yourself by checking the entire vehicle over if you do not know the exact reason the car was  reconstructed. It may be that the car was stolen and partially stripped, flooded, or just wrecked.

    Buyer beware.

  2. a Salvage title car is worth 1/2 of the normal car is worth.

  3. Some are great deals. Do not buy if:

tires are worn in the wrong places

    the alignment is off

body panels do not match up correctly

    any noises

    vibrations

missing parts (body and drive train)

I considered buying a rebuilt Town Car a few years ago. It was missing some plastic pieces behind the front bumper.
