who frequently find themselves victimized?

Some social conservatives have stated that the condom is "barbaric." I guess rape isn't.

  1. Hey, if it's necessary, and the women will use them, I don't know why you would be against it. I agree, how is rape less barbaric than a condom?

  2. must be these reasons...

    1. men have always hated to wear condoms...

    2. women are more prone to HIV than men.

    3. lot of HIV...

here no one is victimized...its for the safety...

  3. Actually I heard the problem was rampant so, I agree they need it.  Especially with the high HIV rates.  Also the condom is considered "barbaric" because, it could result in severe injury for a woman when you think about it.  Truth be told, personally, I think the best defense for a woman walking around alone is if she is accompanied by a pit bull or a rotweiler.  Not even the largest man will challenge a rottweiler.

    peace.

  4. Anyone who commits rape should have any bad thing imaginable happen to them in return.

  5. US policy regarding foreign aid prohibits distribution of any form of birth control. I guess the third world is underpopulated.

  6. That's a good idea. And women who use it against innocent male victims should be punished too.

  7. I think that product is probably not tested very well and will endanger more women who use it.  It will disable the rapist?  I wonder how much?  It may just anger the rapist enough to kill her or come back later and kill her.

  8. A belief over there in some places is if you rape a virgin you will be cured of AIDS, so the victims get younger and younger. So yeah I think it's essential, unless someone wants to rescue all of the virgins out of there. Plus imagine when she develops one that will work for men and boys (anal). Eww that just brought a thought to mind, when rapists become mindful of this device they will simply start using the back door... freaking nasty.

  9. Whether it's barbaric or not is irrelevant. Rapists deserve everything they get. I'm more concerned about how much of a deterrent it is to inflicting violence on women > if rapists get used to women wearing them they will just inflict violence in other ways. But if it works, sure, I have no ethical concerns about such a device.

  10. These things are great.

To all the men who fear that women will use these things to get revenge, if they did they deserve to go to jail. Just like anyone who injures someone unjustly with a gun.

  11. This concept seems more likely to be counterproductive.

Given that rapists aren't exactly the gentlest of people, I wouldn't think there would be anything to stop them from inserting a foreign object like a stick first to disarm a potential trap if this sort of thing became regular.

Given that rape (which is a power-driven act, not just some guy looking for easy s*x) often involves abusing victims first with objects or humiliating acts, having the condom deploy against an inserted foreign object would be particularly counterproductive, as the would-be rapist would simply be enraged at finding out what his victim was trying to use on him.

Other than the possible successful functioning of the first few of these devices that were used, I don't think these devices would be useful for anything more than satisfying the vengeful emotions of some rape victims who imagine it being deployed successfully and against actual rapists.

  12. i'm a virgin; and sadly, i don't think it can protect me yet ..this time that i need it most.

it would be smart to have it distributed discreetly, as it can only work when the rapist doesn't know it's there.

  13. going by the number of women who "joke" about cutting guys' penises off, I would agree that it is barbaric

there are always going to be women who sleep with men for money, revenge, etc. Now they have another reason - to inflict injury.

  14. Sure, the first guy that rapes a woman in a village gets this stuck on him, but the next 15 or 20 don't.  And they'll be more violent towards her afterwards.

Rape isn't an isolated event in Africa, it's a systematic weapon used just like machetes, rifles, and bombs.  The rapex condom isn't about to stop any of it.

It's a good idea, but in reality, it won't help.

  15. Rape is barbaric and so is the rapex solution. But my only real concern is that some women would use this as a weapon of revenge against men. After all, angry wives have been known to castrate their husbands.

  16. While I think it is a good idea, I fear that if used, the rapists would just start to kil the victims.  It is (arguably) better to be raped and left alive than to harm the rapist and end up dead.

  17. I think it is a great idea!  Yes it could be misused but I would urge women not to do that.  If this is barbaric it is so for a reason; rape is barbaric!  I know that a lot of victims of rape I know wished they had had teeth down there at the time of their attacks.  This could help discourage rape as you never know who may be wearing one.

Edit: to the women who do not do their own research on questions; you are wrong.  This is a lot more then a condom it has teeth.  It has little teeth that will pinch the skin and it is very hard to remove on your own.  It is not only to protect the women from STDs but will also identify the attacker.  Women could misuse it for evil purposes but I hope that they wouldn't.  Those women will cause so many problems for rape victims they will be right up there with the girls that cry rape falsely.

  18. what if she forgets, or even purposefully leaves it in while sleeping with a man that is not raping her?

  19. The abuse of women in Africa is barbaric... condoms are not. Condoms are a step in the right direction to control birth rates and STD's in Africa. Handing out condoms will only increase the quality of life in Africa.

  20. two thumbs up....go for it gurls... its a woman's personal choice... intact it would be great against DATE RAPES TOO in the civilized world...i cant understand what right have people have anything to say ... its woman's choice what self protection she uses....as simple as that. especially since this cant be misused as pepper spray or tazer... but i would still advice women to carry tazer

  21. I've addressed this a number of times.  It sounds good in theory, but I think it'll backfire.  It'll just get women killed when they make the guy angry.  If it becomes popular, guys will just search for it with something else, then just rape her anyway.

On the flip side, what stops the woman from using it against a man?  Plus, there's always the small chance a woman could forget about it (not being a woman, I don't know how easy that would be, so maybe I'm wrong here) and accidentally "catch" a guy in it.

In my opinion, there's too many things that could go wrong with it.  Besides, how are you supposed to know when rape is coming?  I can't believe you'd want to wear this the majority of the time.

If it was guaranteed to catch only guilty rapists, I'd be for it.
