  1. "What do you think about former world champion Saoul Mamby still fighting at 61?"

i had no idea he was still fighting! he has had fights at the age of 61? are you s**+tting me!? has he won any bouts? if he has then that is fu--ing sweet and more power to him!

  2. Sick, Sick, Sick. He's going to get hurt.

  3. Previously the California State Athletic Commission had retired him following his loss in 2000. The fight was held in the Cayman Islands and so was not within the jurisdiction of any US State Athletic Commission. The fight was to have taken place in Idaho, but I expect the State Athletic Commission didn't want to license Mamby to fight.

  4. A complete disgrace to anyone attached to it, and another black eye to boxing in general.

  5. I think its a travesty.  And for those who don't believe he is still fighting, look it up on boxrec- he just lost a 10 round decision to a fighter with a record of 6-25-1.  Its a shame that he was even alllowed to fight at 61 years old.  I'm all for accomplishing your dreams and I don't think anyone has the right to tell someone they can't do something, but in situations like these, someone else has to look out for the best interests of the fighter because he clearly does not know what is best for him.  In his case, its even worse because he does not have anything to accomplish and he already was a champion, maybe not the best of all time, but he can say to his grandchildren (literally) that he was a world champion and most of us won't get that opportunity.

  6. I don't think he'll be able to get a permit for that, and I think nobody will sanction his fight.

  7. Mamby is not fighting! No way! Where's the proof?

  8. well, it's true alright!
