  1. i like french toast. =D

  2. french fries? they yummy

  3. HAHA! you guys are too funny! It's not because it says "french" that it's french food! Poutine is Québecois junk food,  very different from french cuisine. French cuisine is very good. Lots of sauces, good flavors. But a little complicated to prepare : you have to really know the techniques. But if you go to a restaurant, try as much things as you can, it's very good.

  4. My favorite food, loaded with cream and sauces. Rich and fun, great way to eat. Wine with everything.

  5. I tend to like French comfort foods like Cassoulet and soup.

Nothing better than French Garlic soup with French Bread made with a beef stock that has been simmering for days.

Haute Cuisine is not the real French Cuisine. You need to travel to the Departments in the interior to really taste things unlike any in the world.

I also think that a good cheese with vine ripened grapes and a great boujolais and fresh baked brioche is the best meal on earth!

  6. I think it is very rich, I love all the butter and cream sauces!  Crepes are awesome. So are the breads and cheeses.  I practically live on fromage croissants and Nutella crepes whenever I am in France (not as often as I would like.)

My fave French dish is a provencial dish called Coq au Vin, it is absolutely scrumptious!

  7. I agree with cruisepuppy. What I love about it is the variety and small portions that allow you to taste many different things in one meal.  Sometimes you can dine out in a mainstream restaurant in the US and be served a large portion of something- which may be your thing- but you can sit for an hour and eat the same flavored thing.  In a typical French gastronomic menu it's not that way. And yes, you can be very satisfied with less food.

  8. Love the French Fries and French Dressing.

  9. What is wonderful about French food is that you don't need to eat a ton of it to be full, happy, as it is so rich. Small portions of something really rich leave you satisfied, not looking for a bic mac later on. I love it.

  10. French fries are good.  Poutaine is better, though.  That's Quebecois, so I dunno if that counts as French...  French toast is OK.  Croutons are good too.  Frenches yellow mustard I don't like...

  11. Come on guys, Poutine is a gross concoction that an actual frenchman wouldnt poke with a stick,

French food is all about using fresh beautiful ingredients wisely, not smothering things in overpowering sauce or fries.

French food varies widely from one region of france to another, they have various local ingredients that they are proud of and are protected parts of their heritage.

A good rule of thumb is.

French bread and croissants get eaten in the morning when they are fresh. (often on their own)

dejuenner - Takes a good couple of hours and involves multiple small courses, some might be just salad, or frenchfries.  They usually start the wine then.

Diner is a smaller affair eaten quite often at home, but many people eat out, France has many fabulous places to dine and french cuisine is possibly the best in the world.

    specialities include

    Champagne

    fois gras and other pates

escargots (snails) try em before you knock em.

    Tarte tatin.

Cheese (Roquefort, brie, St Agur) to name a few out of a few thousand

French sauces are generally easy to make and the kind of thing you can do at home, dont be scared off by the myths, go for it and try it yourself

  12. French Loaf is top of the bread in the whole world!

    French Fries is Great Discovery!

and French Wine has the best Quality!
