What do you think about geeks?

it relli pisses me off if anyone calls anyone a geek ,, geeks r just people who try relli hard in their studies and thast a good thing cause thats gonna help get good job in future plus not all geeks wear thick glass.. plus they talk about knowledge which is a good thing

Somtimes they can be nice and somtimes all they talk about is science and all that bouring stuff.

there are no geeks nothing but jerks who are jealous and insecure enough in their own lives that they fell the need to knock people down because they see no way to get up

Having been to university, I must assume I've known a lot of 'Geeks' and was maybe one myself.  On the other hand, maybe I wasn't Geek enough!

It seems strange to me that in America, by and large, there has been the fight against all kinds of discrimination ~ racial, national, sexual, religious and others ...until the young develop their own subcultures with Geeks, Jocks, tmboys (whatever they are!!) etc, and they begin their childish discrimination game-playing all over again.

I'm not saying that the English are any better, but what gets born in the States tends to migrate ...and that grates somewhat too.

Socially awkward geeks are the best kind of geek.

They wouldn't be so cute if they weren't. I have a thing for intelligent guys. Makes for better coversation and way better relationships.

I dunno. I'm apparently one of them, so I guess it's just go with the flow for me.

People who take the time to slam someone on petty social grounds is a much bigger loser than any percieved geek could ever really be, so I don't worry too much about being stuck with the label.

I 've always aspired to be a geek while I was growing up since many of my friends were engineers, but I just barely got past Calculus I, so I give them lots of credit, and

R- E- S- P- E- C- T.

And a geek who works out is a gem--brains and brawn.  All they need to do next is discard the dark rimmed glasses and don a pair of contact lenses and voila!

Who says anyone is the ultimate authority on what a geek is. People just use labels to put someone down. Geek is just one of the many words that people use to insult someone that is different from them. You sort of labeled all people who study as a geek......................we are all guilty in a sense of labeling people.

the people that you call "geeks" or "nerds" or whatever in high school will probably be the same ones that end up owning some multi-million dollar corperation, i.e. ; bill gates. and you'll probably end up working for them :]

geeks are associated with a lot of negative traits, namely social awkwardness. and in human society, fitting in is just about the single most important thing when you're growing up. what are geeks? they're a bunch of stereotypical kids in high school that will get picked on for their above average technological / academic knowledge, and yet 10 years from now, they're the ones rolling around in cash? shows that negative associations with certain stereotypes are just a stupid way to get you down for a gift that not a lot of people have.
