  1. The latest warming trend ended in 1998.  Since then it has begun to cool.  Global warming is a political scam and has nothing to do with carbon or science.

  2. We are all going to die. May as well live it up while we can.

  3. Mother nature is going through menopause, cut her some slack eh!

  4. Rapid and radical climate change caused by the overall warming of the planet due to man's activities (generally shortened to 'global warming') is one of the "biggest challenges facing the human race" (Ban-ki Moon, UN S-G).

And it's  not just me - the majority of people in the world, and the majority of people in the US also think that GW is somewhat or very serious(http://hdr.undp.org/en/reports/global/hd...

The world's leaders and the world's top climate scientists are of the same opinion (http://www.ipcc.ch/)/

Personally, I find it sad that there are so many people in YA who are still in denial of basic facts but sadder still that they try to confuse and miseducate others with their comple and utter BS:

The World Meteorological Organization refutes davem's unsubstantied claim that warming ended in 1998. 1998 was a hot year; 1999 was cooler than that - the variation between two years does not make a trend. davem's grasp of statistics is poor to say the least.

ifoyo's volcanoes are not responsible for ice cap melting. Even the link he provides says "The heat is isolated from the surface by layers of water", "none of these will have any impact on the Arctic sea ice". "The average heat added from volcanoes to the ocean is 0.1 W/sq m; the heat added from the sun and atmosphere is 100 W/sq m." - There is no way, even if the heat did reach the ice caps that it would have a significant impact upon melting or freezing.

  5. I think although its a natural phenomenon when mankind kind begins to play a part, the natural process becomes sped up way too fast...& there are already signs of it already showing...The polar ice caps, the whole in the O-Zone, much stronger than normal storms etc. I believe the politicians must act fast as possible.

  6. It's real. Just like global cooling, its been going up and down for about 4 billion years now.

The political correct question is "Is man causing it?"

On the grand scale of things, I think it's egotistical for us to think we have more control over the environment than mother nature.

  7. If it's even happening, it's not our fault and we couldn't stop it if every resource on the planet were devoted to it.

  8. As relates to the Arctic ice mass,  apparently there has been volcanic eruptions under the Arctic Sea.  Through a rift that goes from Greenland to Siberia.  With massive lava extrusions and CO2 releases.  There is a mile wide and hundreds of Kms long a mass of lava, Molten rock is over 3000 degrees F.  More than enough heat to melt the Arctic ice mass temporarily.   .

  9. Global Warming is not a Doomsday  Prophesy  it is a wake up call.  The first thing we need to do is help make some changes in our national mind set from one that lets us believe that our earth can recover from anything, to one that lets us believe that our earth could use a little help.

Developing cleaner ways to produce electricity is not going to hurt a thing, if it doe’s nothing but make the air we breathe cleaner it works for me.

Developing  alternative fuels to power our transportation needs , again won’t hurt a thing, reduce the demand for oil you reduce the price we pay  for it, I think everyone can say “that works for me” to this.

In our everyday life one of  best ways  to help focus your mind set  in the right direction is to say to yourself each morning, “Today I will do no harm to the earth” I do this it works, I find myself doing little things that in the long run enriches my life, again it don’t hurt a thing.

I could go on about this all day but I won’t. I’m a global warming  advocate but, not because of some unfounded fear of  Doomsday but (as you may have guessed by now) because it won’t hurt a thing to help our earth recover from  years of  industrial plunder.

  10. Silly people, believe everything your told.  Just like the gas shortage in 1973-it was fake.  I don't believe it for a minute.  We have had the coldest two summers in decades.  It's July and people still run their heaters.  Global warming- it's a fake.

The earth has been going thru heating and cooling swings for thousands of years.  Ice melts then freezes back. Those making the most racket about this have something to gain somewhere $$$$$

  11. It doesn't exist. Research global cooling.

By the way research a polish woman named Irena. She volunteered to work as a plumbing assistant during the war at a German death camp. She snuck out babies in her lunchbox. She snuck out bigger kids in a burlap bag and trained her dog to bark at the German soldiers so they wouldn't search her truck. She snuck 2500 kids out of that camp before being caught. The Germans broke her arms and legs and tortured her. She recovered, after the war she tried to find the kids and reunite them with their families but the Germans had gassed all their relatives.

She was nominated for the nobel peace prize and she lost. It was given to Al Gore for doing a slide show on global warming.

Irena died a few days ago from pneumonia at the age of 93.

I hope Mr. Gore is proud.

  12. pretty scary

  13. Haven't you heard the news??!!!  It's not "Global Warming" anymore (since we have actually been cooling and all)...Now its "CLIMATE CHANGE", which could seriously mean anything.

  14. we all have to die someday

  15. Global warming biggest supporters are public school kids who really don’t have a clue, because they have not been taught real science.
