  1. We are always careful about when we turn on the heat and the air conditioning. You can save a huge amount of energy by just turning it down a few notches. Oh, and all those ignorant people who say global warming is "natural" or "not actually happening", they are just afraid to admit that it is.

  2. i need to drive.

but i'm gonna get a car that uses less gas.

or no gas, if there's a good one that does that.

  3. My standard joke is to release more aerosols into the atmosphere.

My oppinion, global warming is not the problem general emissions are the problem.  The global warming craze of 06 has brought so much attention to CO2 and no attention to the really dangerious stuff, that will make you sick.

  4. i believe that "global warming" is a scam set up by Al Gore to make money.  the climate change we are experiencing is all part of the earth's natural cycle.  i don't know if this is true or not, but many people have said we are coming out of an "ice age" so therefore the temperatures going up is normal.  i do belive we need to conserve our natural resources, however, b/c those are non-refundable.  but, all this "global warming" freaking out and all those "green" people trying to tell me that the world is going to end b/c of AGW is just c**p.

  5. Turn up the AC?

  6. Global warming is cased by many facts...mostly US and the sun actually natural heats the earth in a process called Sunspot Cycle...the cycle takes 11 years to complete and can increase or decrease the temperature by several degrees...over all though it is US...I beleive that civilization it OVER that we are not longer progress and we need to stop pretending we are becasue we arn't...we are just kill this planet we have to live on...so I beleive we need to STOP some of our projects and put them on pause and find some real solutions to our dying earth!!!

My opinion...hope you found it informing...Have a nice day!!! :D

Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation, desertification, soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources , air pollution,Non sustainable Agriculture, over pumping carbon aquifers

all concepts which are definitely not part of the Natural Processes of the Natural world

    WHICH WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR,

The most prolific growth on this planet is part of the day in the mist and most of the time under clouds ,and the least growth is always directly in the sun .

To exchange the one for the other means changing local climates

We are exchanging Nature with Tar , concrete and open spaced mono cultures.

In 300 years half of the planets forests have gone ,and in the last 50 years half of the wet lands ,and rain forests

These Areas absorb heat during the day and release heat at night ,

Cause cloud formation(shade).humidifying the air on the surface as well as releasing excess water at the roots that keep rivers flowing ,which in turn brings more water into the Environment .

As well as contributing to absorbing carbon emissions as do the leaves of the trees together with the oceans .

All in all many factors which directly affect the local Environment .

The loss of the above resulting in rivers drying up ,less rain ,desertification, loss of habitat for many species and so on.

dryer and hotter surface environments which can manifest in different weather patterns such as tornadoes or bush fires

I may be stupid or Naive but somehow i believe that lots of these local environmental changes, can add up to affect global weather, If there are enough of them (and there are)

And then on top of that comes the story of the effects of pollutants released into Nature and especially the Air ,by MAN http://earthissues.multiply.com/photos/a...

A cocktail of events and a lot of the ingredients have MAN written all over them

So it is safe to assume that we should look at ourselves ,for possible improvements ,and rectifying Eco errors that are with in our powers.

    What is a safer bet

to be or not to be

  8. i don't worry about it, because i don't believe in fairy tales.

  9. It amazes me how so many people flat out deny it without even considering it to be true.  Global Warming also doesnt just mean warming, its more climate change.  Have you noticed how the weather has gotten more erratic and strange thats a big part of it.  We know the ice caps are melting and at a rate that seems to be getting faster.  This means rising sea levels at a rate that will be gradual, but scientists have done computer models that paint a grim picture.  At our current rate in 100 years major cities at sea level will be threatened or under water, which are major cities (New York, Bosten, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, etc, etc.  Think about how many cities are on the coast.  Storms will gt more severe, droughts, excessive rainfall.  Water is also threatened.  Its not pretty and to sum it all up about half the people in America dont even care.  Most people turn there head.  They care more about making money and thinking about themselves then the planet or future generations.  Laws need to be made to FORCE people to change b/c it wont happen.  I HOPE Al GORE IS president one day! We're on a collision course.  By the way Im not a tree hugger or a hippie because I believe in the environment thats bullshit.

  10. 1. Reduce, Reuse Recycle

    2. If you own a vehicle own a higher efficient one like a hybrid.

    3. Live downtown and rarely drive

    4. Give to various environmental charities (Union of concerned Scientists, Nature Conservancy, and the Sierra Club, etc).

    5. Go Vegan. Probably one of the greatest positive impacts an individual can have on the environment as meat production in more energy intensive, and creates massive amounts of methane (20x's more powerful than CO2), as well as takes us to 16 pounds of grain to make one pound of beef).

    6. Buy local goods. Being a locovore is key to helping the environment when our food is shipped an average of 1600 miles. I buy at the local co-ops and farmers markets. I also buy local woods, fragrance sprays, clothing and more. Whatever I can find that is of decent quality and price I buy over non-local.

    7. Gardening: I have planted many bushes trees and flowers over the last few years. I also have a food garden that brings local and sustainability to a whole new level.

    8. Compost: Saves loads on trash and I need not by fertilizers which are often petroleum based. I also save on having buy and to ship in extra dirt.

    9. Travel Less: Especially buy plane which literally releases tones of CO2 per passenger per trip.

    10. Promote Awareness: We can't do this alone

    11. Write elected officials to create green laws.

    12. Put CFL's or LED's throughout your whole house.

    13. Use solar and crank flashlights: They save me money and the environment in energy as well as the embodied energy of batteries.

    14. Use tote bags :America uses over 380 billion bags a year that will not decompose in the landfills.

    15. Drink filtered not bottled water which takes petroleum for each bottle you drink and through away.

    16. Throw away a little as possible: I often find uses of people who want things in which many would through away out of sheer laziness.

    17. Buy hemp clothing: grows more prolifically than cotton, is stronger fabric making it last longer, and requires no pesticides.

    18. Buy recycled goods such as toilet paper, reclaimed materials for shoes, used clothing and construction materials, etc.

    19. Add extra insulation to you house.

    20. Walk or bike where possible; Or if you must take public transportation

These are the things i will do to prevent global warming.

  11. The senior meteorologist at AccuWeather.com says Philadelphia could be the next potential hurricane disaster along the U.S. East Coast, but again alleged manmade global warming would have nothing to do with it.

    Now why would that be?

Because we have people damming up lakes in the Delaware River basin for water. These lakes would normally, in a dry spell or wet spell, be lower than what they are. If a hurricane would track northwest along the East Coast and hit Wallops Island with a 15-foot storm surge, and that surge met with flooding from dams further up north reaching their capacity the Philadelphia area could see major flooding.

If that happens, is that global warming?

No! It's because finally a storm took that path AND we built dams there.
