Yes, Beijing's pollution is still terrible though the authorities has made every effort...however, the issue will not pose a serious threaten upon those short-time visitors.

It is just a haze. So what. China still has one of the highest longivity among Hong Kong with Japan being the highest

Canada has clean air but their lifespan is alot shorter. The haze isn't really the issue now is it??

they certainly do harm to health of athletes.

but chinese natives has breathing this kind of polluted air all their lives

It is a concern if you think it is a concern, but it really is "picking bones in an egg" kind of thing since China is in the middle of all these attentions, and media is trying its hardest to pick on something. It is expected.

it won't affect the performance of the athletes. the native chinese have been living there for centuries and nothing has ever happened. in fact, they're all so healthy. when i visited china myself 2 weeks ago,

1) the air quality really isn't that bad

2) the people there are really healthy. healthier than me. and i'm from singapore.

i hope i made my point.

Beijing is truely great otherwise the IOC would not vote it to be the Olympic holder. The haze will disappear sooner or later.

it is so dusty! and unhealthy!
