  1. They're usually smarter and more well bahaved, but that's probably because they get one-on-one attention all the time, and there's no distracting kids.

But i know some who are jerks lol...

    just depends. they're still people

  2. What I think about homeschool kids is that they are awesome.  What I know about homeschool kids is that they are unique individuals.

  3. I don't think homeschooled kids fit any one mold. If anything they are allowed to break free of many of the peer pressure forces that make so many public schooled kids like sheep.  This lack of force in any particular direction allows homeschooled children to grow up in unique ways.

Homeschooled kids that I personally know seem to be very close to and fond of their parents and siblings, they also seem to get along well with people of all ages.

  4. James Knight, maybe you better check that your answers are coorect before you post them.  I don't know of any college that does not loves homeschoolers!  Colleges tend to recruit homeschoolers rather forcefully becasue on average they have better grades, are more mature, and are more likely to graduate.  Granted, there will be exceptions.  Some homeschoolers don't study, do not graduate high school or college, and are not mature.  And what do I think of homeschoolers?  I love em!  No matter what their social skills are, homeschoolers are kids that have a hard time growing up just like anyone else.  I was homeschooled and I have never had anyone ask me if I was.  Instead they always ask where I went to highschool.  Most people are surprised when I tell them I was homeschooled.  I am a senior now and I have loved every minute of college (and homeschooled) life.

  5. I know many homeschooled kids and to me they act just like kids.  I teach Sunday School and I see some homeschooled kids and some Public schooled kids and the only difference I see is that the ones in Public school come to class knowing how to raise their hand and wait in line, while the homeschooled kids will instead try to say, "excuse me" when they have a question, and think its okay to walk side by side instead of single file.  (Which by the way, is fine with me as their Sunday School teacher.)

The other difference I notice is that homeschooled kids sometimes have better manners--but not always.

The three most wonderful children I have ever met are homeschooled-- my own kids.

  6. Well we homeschool and know a lot of homeschool kids since we see them all the time.

Most are extremely outgoing, awesome kids.  They are motivated and love learning.  A lot of high school kids get jobs and great work experience since they don't have to spend their time sitting in a classroom.

Some are shyer and have a tougher time with life but I think they would even if they were in public school, it's just their personalities.  Just like in ps you have kids with every personality type.  :)

  7. I am homeschooled. There are pros and cons. One of the cons is you don't really have any friends unless you know people in your neighborhood or from a sport/rec. activity. Another is some homeschoolers dont get off. Or even they have to work longer/shorter depending on the assignments,But i think everyone knows the pros;]

  8. there probably not trained that well as if they went to a school

(since they do not have the resources (money) to buy all the equipment out there (books/videos/ect)

to home school a child you need to be an expert at everything, and I don't think many colleges take home schooled children

  9. I'm a homeschooler, so my answer's a little biased ;c)

There are so many different "kinds" (for lack of a better word!) of homeschoolers.  Some are @ home 24/7, w/ their parents as the only teachers.  To be honest, I would DIE.  I take some classes out, some classes w/ my mom.  I also play soccer at my public high school.  Some homeschoolers are extremely smart, excelling in most/all of their subjects.  I know one girl who is sophomore age, but is a senior in credits.  Others, are totally NOT prepared.  Their parents have no training, and no drive, so their kids basically sink.  That really frustrates me- cause I work hard to make homeschoolers "look good".  But ya, there's a little more about homeschoolers! hope it helped!

p.s:  I have friends.  I have "social skills".  I am not a hermit, locked in my home!

  10. im homeschooled adnd like and i am not religious!

  11. Ha, I'm homeschooled, I have friends, and actually 99% of my friends go to school, I am just like every other person, and I always have been, there are downfalls like if your parents arent careful when your younger you might not have as many friends but as long as you try to sociallize its cool. I think the difference between me and kids who go to school is the I enjoy school, but thats just cause I'm a nerd, granted a pretty nerd or so I've been told. I don't get one-on-one attention because my mom homeschools 5 kids so I have to be motivated and a self started, I've developed that over some time now, I also run my own business because homeschooling has taught me to do things for myself. I think that alot of people should put more effort into school or at least try to enjoy it, but I'm no better or worse than any public school kid, I've had hard times and good. I think it just depends on the person.

  12. Homeschooled kids tend to have close relationships with their parents and sibs. They have the opportunity to pursue their interests, so they are often driven and motivated in a certain area. Many are well read and  have strong religious beliefs. And...sometimes they wear sneakers and long skirts:)

  13. I homeschool my son.  I never thought I would be one of "those" people, but when left with no other option for school that we liked when we moved to a new area, this was the only option.  We are in a very fortunate situation because there is actually a homeschool academy here.  My son goes to school two days a week and I homeschool three days a week.  He gets the socialization that most people think homeschools kids don't get.  He is on the volleyball team and year book club.  It is a great program and allows the students to be as active as they want.  My son was hesitant at first, but likes it a lot now.  Homeschooling does allow you to understand your child's learning style and you can adapt to that.  We are happy homeschooling.

  14. I have friends who are homeschooled.

They are just like any other kid except they don't have to go to school so I kinda envy them.

  15. I used to think they were kinda sheltered and odd, but then I met more of them and found that so many of them were very social, intelligent and self-motivated.

Now we homeschool, too, because I was so impressed and because, honestly, we have too much fun with our kids to ship them off for most of their young lives.

  16. We are a smart bunch. I am homeschooled and I dont wear a long skirt with sneakers. (That I will tell you...since someone mentioned that earlier) We are like anybody else. I used to attend public schools but I needed a change. I am more relaxed and I have more time to myself.  I am not stressed anymore like I used to be.

  17. almost similar with other kids

  18. Home schooled children seem smarter and well adjusted. Maybe that's because they don't have the stress that public school children have.

  19. They have a very dedicated parent.

  20. Well I was homeschooled in typing at the age of 6-7 and my school didn't teach it until 8th grade, where I got an A the first week which got me an A on the final.

For me homeschool was 6-7 grades ahead of everyone else back in 1960s

  21. I think I am homescholed But I have gone  to public and Homeschoool Kids ar Great Smart and Socia People!
