What do you think about me playing freshman ball?

Ok well I was one of the starting running backs in football in 7th grade until I broke my femur (and boy did it hurt). Then when I played in 8th grade I was put on B team the second team behind the real game. I was put on A team defense (corner to be exact) because I hit really hard! I would say I'm pretty fast but the reason I'm asking is because I'm only 5'1'' and 100 pounds. I was looking up on here what people were when they played freshman year and it just makes me not want to play because they all seem big compared to me.

You can say whatever I won't feel offended or anything. Please any advice because I really don't want to go out anymore. I've played football my whole life and this is the first time I don't really wanna play.

I mostly want to try out for RB, CB, or SS.

I've also always started in city ball against guys a lot older than me and bigger so I'm not afraid to get hit or to hit!

I love the game with all my heart I just don't know if I wanna play because I don't want to be like 7th string in freshman football! Thanks to all that answer!

  1. dude its ok my lil bro is going to the 8th grade and hes only 5'3 and weighs 100 pounds and he wants to play corner in highskool he doesnt care if he doesnt make it he says hes gonna try his best and if doesnt make atleast he gave a shot at it but listen to me u need to try out freshman year or else say goodbye to playing football bc u need to try out this year or u wont be put on next year and so on so listen try out give it yr best shot and hopefully u make it anyways good luck man!

  2. d**n dude, 5'1 ;p.. I'd say your best bet is running back, but try to bulk up.. you say you're fast, but keep your speed up & get faster .. You should weigh at least 150 by sometime, & you'll prolly grow a few more inches.. Don't try defense unless you've got an amazing vertical.  Stick with running back , you'll be hard to tackle :) Just run hard . good luck;

  3. go for it bro you'll do great

  4. i say u start lifting but dont over do it rb is great and eat alot of spaghetti(idk if spelled correct) and lifting doesnt effect ur growth and thats been proven but u have 2 have alot of heart

  5. Because of your height, people may over look you. So your going to have to start from the bottom up. Try not to lift too much weight because it can affect your growth, more push ups and pull ups. I say 5' 7" or 5' 8" range and 190 lbs muscle is good for a a RB.

  6. football is a great sport and it whips you into shape so stick with it and nothing comes easy so if you are not good at first keep going
