What do you think about me playing freshman football?

Long story short. Ok well I was one of the starting running backs in football in 7th grade until I broke my femur (and boy did it hurt). Then when I played in 8th grade I was put on B team the second team behind the real game. I was put on A team defense (corner to be exact) because I hit really hard! I would say I'm pretty fast but the reason I'm asking is because I'm only 5'2'' and 105 pounds. I was looking up on here what people were when they played freshman year and it just makes me not want to play because they all seem big compared to me.

You can say whatever I won't feel offended or anything. Please any advice because I really don't want to go out anymore. I've played football my whole life and this is the first time I don't really wanna play. I mostly want to try out for RB, CB, or SS. I've also always started in city ball against guys a lot older than me and bigger so I'm not afraid to get hit or to hit! I love the game with all my heart I just don't know if I wanna play because I don't want to be like 7th string in freshman football! Thanks to all that answer!

  1. don't listen to people when they tell you that you can't play. you should definately try out. when i was going into 9th grade i was only 5ft 3 in. and 120 lbs. i had played center all my life until then. i started to get faster and really strong so i tried out for fullback. i got the spot and then later on i ended up being a linebacker. i have always been small my whole life and boy did i hate it. but if you let people tell you that you can't, then you will think that you can't. always have a positive attitude when your on the field and act a little crazy. talk trash to people but not in a horrible way. say things like i'm comin after you! and S**t like that. that will make people more afraid of you and then they'll realize that you showed up to play. and always remember that it feels alot better to hit someone, then to get hit by somebody. i hope i could help and i wish you the best of luck. Fu*k people up on the field bro.

  2. i think too your too short and skinny becuz im in 8 th grade now oin the a team and start at RB and MLB and im 5' 7 and 145 lbs with only 9 % body fat

U could try but u willl get ****** up and not play at all

  3. yeah just try and see what happens

  4. In response to your question, I would continue to play but play flag.  I played in college and my father is still coaching in high school.  My father would not allow me to play contact football until I was at least 150 lbs.   I work in physical therapy now and can tell you that major injuries to a young player can effect the rest of their life.  You have a long way to go in this world so enjoy playing organized flag so you keep your skills, speed and desire.   Wait a year start a workout program and see where your at after that!  By the way breaking your femur is one of the most painful injuries classified by all sports medicine specialist.  Soo at least we know your a tough kid!

  5. I think that if you don't want to play, you shouldn't. But then again, it never hurt to try. (well unless you break your femur) But i think you should go for it, and see what happens.

  6. if you really truly love the game of football then i say go out for it.. you might not get the position you want but just go out there and try your hardest and good things should come out of it. try lifting weights too you'll get stronger and see even better results out of yourself
