I want to put her in a fair. But i dont know anything about that. So i you know anything about that please put something about that.

But have you ever seen an appaloosa like her before. I think she is so unique looking. I plan on breeding her. I wish i could get that color again. lol but i doubt it.

Any way, have you ever seen an appaloosa like her? i know all appys have different coat patterns. But some are alike in the way it is. Like the leoperd, (by the way i love them too!)

  1. She looks to be of the leopard blanket variety. This means that their leopard spots are mainly on their rump.

As for fairs - have you looked into 4-H fairs? 4-H is similar to girl/boy scouts, except it's not segregated by gender. Also, most folks in 4-H tend to live in more rural areas. Also, if you have a riding instructor you could ask them for info about fairs.

As for breeding - there's more to consider than just the color of your horse. Temperment, confirmation, etc. Please do some research before you breed her; I think that you would be able to get another leopard blanket if you did, but check the appy genetics.

  2. Yup.

Her color isn't unique at all.  It isn't even desirable.  Her blanket pattern fades into the rest of her roan type color.

Do not breed this mare.  You will only end up producing more foals that will grow up to be sent to auction.  This mare is nothing special breeding-wise.  It is good that you love her, but that does not make her a broodmare.

  3. shes very cute but theres nothing very unique about her

  4. She is cute. I would enter her in the fair. Yeah I have seen a lot like her. These two horses have basicly the same markings::

The coat pattern is called a blanket. I wouldnt breed her. She is pretty but has some conformation faults that would probably be passed on to the foal.

  5. ehmygawd she is sooooo cute! SHOW HER SHES AN ACE!

  6. Every Appy is unique. Please, I'm not trying to be rude, but don't breed her. There is nothing special about her. We have enough unwanted horses in our world. You can easily adopt an Appy foal with beautiful markings as well. As for putting her in the fair, I'd say go for it! Why not, you'll have fun, she'll have fun and you'll both learn alot! Good luck. I hope I helped!

  7. put her in a fair. she is pertty!!!!!!

  8. I personally dont like fairs the one in my area isn't nice at all I mean granite i always look at the animal section but their stalls are extremely small. people are constantly staring at them making them nervous and touching them. Also in the one by me they can easily get in contact with other horses and get sick. I mean maybe yours is a lot nicer but i would check before you do anything

In my opinion if you want to show her off actually show her but if you want to bring her to the fair dont put her in the stalls that disgusting

  9. Awhhh shes cute .. pretty face and nice colour!

  10. Very cute appy. I have an appy too he looks a little like yours, but yours is definatley unique

  11. Yes take her to a show.

She looks to have nice conformation, with nice hindquarters.

There is normally a section for coloured horses. And as a mare you could enter her in led classes for brood mare. And ridden classes under the coloured section.

To have yourselves in top condition, give her a good bath, trim off any stray scraggy looking hairs around her face and lower legs. Cut her tail nice and even, it should be below hock height when she is carrying it nicely. Brush her main so it lays on the off side, you may need to plait for show day. Tails are always plaited now, many are pulled.

For yourself, have clean jods, ironed shirt with a nice tie. Hair tied back and in a hair net. Polish your boots.

    Clean your tack.

So you basically want to be in a very neat workman like appearance.

For your classes you'll need to be able to have your horse stand still in a line up of horses. Walk, trot and canter when asked. You'll all ride in a group, then be asked to do an individual work out. This is like a figure of eight. You ride out to the centre halt and salute to the judge (or simply nod) then trot one circle, then canter the other circle come back to the centre and trot, walk halt and salute the judge again.

Something along those lines. On the day the judge will tell you what to do, and if you are unsure, repeat back to the judge what has been asked of you so you've got it right.

A steward will also be in the ring, you can ask them questions if need be.

There will probably be a couple of people that know what they are doing. So allow them to line up in the line ups first then you can follow what they do.

Best of luck, you will have so much fun. Happy riding :)

  12. yeah i have seen horses like her(not as nice as her)

    shes so so so pretty

  13. umm, yeah ive seen appys just like her.

    y r u gonna breed?

    she looks swaybacked a little

  14. you SHOULD put her in the fair and if you do breed her the baby will be beautiful

  15. Before I'd put her in a fair, I'd contact some horsepeople that have shown in fairs or open shows and ask them to help you get both her and you ready for the fair/show.  Their knowledge from the experience will help you develop and strong partnership and communication with her.

She is very loudly colored!  An eyecatching mare for sure.  If you do decide to breed her, make sure you not only breed to a stallion that compliments her conformation, but one whom is also loudly colored as she is.  Also, if you can research how her bloodlines and the prospective stallions bloodlines to see how those horses are colored and marked.   That will help your chances of getting a loudly colored foal(if not one that is similarly colored to your mare)

    Good luck!

  16. beautiful horse, I would enter her in a fair!
