What do you think about my new bike?

Question

It's a Marin San Rafael Ovation Hybrid 24 gears. Has 700 x 35 tires on Alex AL-VP20f rims. Its made out of chromale and is ver light! Love it so far. If there is any Hop-ups that need to be done please tell me. I am a beginer so please help me if I need to change something. The bike shop said if I want I can go down to a size 28 tire on it. I am using the bike on road and want to have cycling as one of my hobbies.I have a cateye compuer also.

28mm tyre good upgrade if tyres wear out but all in all you have great bike hope you enjoy the ride.

Great bike! Unless the bike shop is willing to change the tires for free, wait for the ones you have to get worn down before replacing them.

I would add:

Second water bottle cage

Toe clips and straps on the pedals

Small bag with spare tube and tire levers

Air pump

A *GOOD* lock!

The bike should serve you well.  Hybrids are usually good choices for beginners who like the more relaxed geometry (more upright riding position).

I would suggest you add the following items:

- Saddle bag.  It's great to have somewhere to stash your cell phone and keychain when you ride.

- Bar ends.  It lets you change your hand positions so you don't end up with death-grip hand fatigue.

Your Bike is VERY good. Have fun with it.. I would look into solid bike tubes if I were you...they will save you lots of money.
