Question:

What do you think about my tattoo location ?

I am getting a Japanese dragon tattoo on my right arm. It is going to start about 5 or 6 inches above my elbow and it will ''crawl'' to my back.

I want to be a surgeon, and i was wondering what y'all thought about the location? I think it won't be visible when wearing a short sleeve short.

  1. some hospitals have a dress code.

that means not showing tattoos while on duty

i have a friend who works for the local hospital at the urgent care area and they aren't allowed to show any tattoos at all

so your idea sounds good. but to make sure it can't be seen when wearing a short sleeved shirt - bring in a shirt- have the artist start 2 inches above that

so when you raise your arm it won't show

  2. awesome idea :)

  3. I think it's an awesome location, and I love asian style dragon tattoos... and as far as being a surgeon... I actually tattooed a sleeve on my doctor!  It's about ability, not looks, when it comes to the medical field... sort of like the tattoo industry... hmmm

  4. If you where the karate kid this would

be a great idea. DR who are U ???????

  5. ur a guy so ur straight on that. 5 or 6 inches above ur elbow is enough space to wear short sleeves bc guys dont wear baby tees or anything.

  6. yea thats prob. fine. i'm going to be a nurse and i have tattoos on my arms...and you can always wear long sleeves!!

  7. that would be pretty sweet. and thats cool because im not a huge tattoo fan.

  8. the location sounds easy to cover by clothing but as a tattoo artist i advise my clients to talk to others in the business or in your case, the career they want to go into so that they know the policy anddon'tt have to give up one thing for the other. but if your really worried i had a client who wanted a snake wrapping around their arm but they also wanted to be a teacher so i suggested the leg and it looked sweet. also ask your artist to make a temporary tattoo of the design you want and experiment with different locations, although some artistdon'tt do it others give it out for free or charge no more then $10

  9. It's really personal preference. I like tattoos so if you're my doctor I would find that pretty cool. But the older generations might not. By the sound of the placement it seems like it could be easily covered; especially since your a guy sleeves tend to be longer on males than females.

So, it sounds good to me, but I would just be prepared to hear comments from people. In my opinion though, tattoos are so mainstream now, in 5-10 years its really not going to matter anymore.

  10. It sounds like it would be a beautiful tattoo.  And your profession will not matter.  I've seen more and more doctors and ER nurses with tattoos.  I think that body art in the form of tattoos, are becoming more and more accepted in the workplace, as long as the tattoo is not of an offensive nature.
