What do you think about obama?

Im 13 (14 in ocotober) years old and I really think that obama is right for our contry. I mean I want someone who I know will make an amazing difference in my future and I am confident that he will do so. If you like McCain more also tell me why. I want to here more than just absurd comments like goooooooo barack or gooooooo mccain. Worry about your children and your familes future =]

17% of thoses eligible for their first presidential election in novemeber say they know the presidental candidates better than the candidates' own mothers.

In general the U.S. seems to have drifted away from being a place of proactive change and mutual support to a place where people care only about their own welfare (and that of their immediate surroundings). I think that we have forgotten as members of a functioning and modern society it is are duty as citizens to support those around us. By living in a society we give up the right to live only for ourselves, and we compromise in order to support the infrustructure that supports us all. Those compromises come in the form of paying taxes- taxes that might seem exorbiant and overwhelming but are necessary for supporting the ideals our nation was built upon. Allocating more money to schools and research will allow us to grow and progress as a society and keep up in an ever changing world.

I am very excited for the upcoming election, as it seems like we have a candidate who is genuinely bringing people together. He seems to have motivated people to think with compassion rather than fear, and motivate us to change what has gone awry. MR. OBAMA, YOUR NEXT FOUR YEARS WILL BE A GREAT ERA IN AMERICAN SOCIETY!

Just to let you know-

Obama is all talk. He says 'CHANGE,HOPE,CHANGE,HOPE' yet he has not given ONE SPECIFIC example of change or hope. This is why people think he will be a good president.

Obama is inexperienced and is going to make healthcare nationalized. The government just doesnt have money floating around, so your parents will be taxed almost double.

Obama's plan for energy is to pump up tires!! Do you seriously think this is going to help our need for oil?? McCain is actually going to drill in Alaska where we have oil to last us for the next hundred of years!!

Obama has been supported financially by terrorist groups.  I dont know about you, but I dont want anyone who is friends with TERRORISTS to be president, unless you want another september 11!!!

When asked "when does life begin?" Obama responded "uh, thats above my paygrade" If you want to run the United States you BETTER know when life begins!! Even you know the answer to this question!!

Overall, McCain has more experience, and has a plan for our country, which is what we need, not just some fancy speeches.

I hope this helps you out :) You need to be careful of certain magazines and tv stations, because they are biased and will not provide you will the whole story. Sadly, you cant believe everything you read

I congratulate you for thinking, but you seem to have the wrong idea of why the US is so great.  I encourage you to seek multiple points of view before deciding.  I am going to assume that your ideas are based largley on what you here from the media.  I don't blame you for it, you're being bombarded.  But over the past fifteen years or so, I've come to realize that you can't trust them.  Even cartoons have become propaganda!  I've seen it on both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

The ideas this country was founded on are simply those of freedom.  Even during slavery, a lot of the ideas were actually there to combat it.  Sit down and read the constitution- Those are the ideas of the founding fathers. No income tax.  It wasn't invented until the last century.  The schools run by the government are not very good.  Yes, some are good; but a lot aren't.  This is mainly due to teacher's unions.  Harvard actually did the study and came to this conclusion.

my wife and I put our son in a private school  we aren't rich by any stretch of the imagination, but we sacrifice so he can go to one.  This schools text scores are amazing compared to the nation in general, yet they get about a quarter of the funds public schools get, so more money isn't the answer.

If you really want to understand Obama, read the communist manifesto by Karl Marx.  compare Obama's ideas to Marx's.  The capitalist system requires us to live for others for our very survival.  If you truly just live for yourself, you will perish, because no one will do business with you.  In a state run system no one really has to try that hard either.  Just look at communist russia and the quality of life during that era.  A  lot of people don't sem to get that taxes on business hurt everyone.

1. The Business has a tighter budget and therefore can't hire as many people.  I've seen it happen with smaller businesses

2. The business just passes the taxes on to the customer.  Large businesses do this.  Why do you think food has gotten so expensive?

Again, I salute you for considering these thing, but I wanted to give you another viewpoint to consider if you really want truth.

I think Obama has the potential to be a very great leader and that no matter what, they're gonna make lies about him and criticize him. I can see it in him that he has a good heart and I think that the politics he has to deal with is so unfair. It's time for the states to have a change.

Obama reminds me so much of John F. Kennedy.  I was a teenager when he was in office and held him in high respect.  He put everything on the line to support Dr. MLK and his fight for equal rights.

Well Obama was a community organizer if that means anything.  It doesn't to me, but to some it was a deal breaker.  Kid, really study the facts and avoid a socialist agenda that the dems like to push.  Go to school, study hard, get a worthwhile job, and make your fate on your own.  You don't need anyone to set up your future but yourself.

Living in a society does not do away with the right to live for yourself. There should never be anything that can take that right away. I do agree we should help our fellow man, but putting that task on an already bloated government is not the way to do it. Raising taxes to fund this type of thinking just makes all the same grade of poor, theres nothing to aspire to. There is a term used, about the American Dream, doing what you suggest turns us into just another socialist country and the American Dream is gone. When you tax business in the way Obama says he will, well then we are all gonna be broke and unemployed and thats just gonna make more people dependent on that society you talked about. Nope for my money and my future and my childrens future, Im going to be voting for John McCain. He is the man for the job at this time. He does have a record of working with both parties to get things done. I think he genuinely does what he thinks is best for the nation. I dont always agree with him, but he's not in it for himself, and doenst have an extreme agenda.

He's a great orator.  He makes you feel good inside.  He makes you think your OK and there is hope for the future.  He mesmerizes people with his eloquence of speech, while proposing a much larger government, an unfair tax code for all, higher taxes for all, huge, new government entitlement programs, and on and on.  He can charm the young to give up their futures in capitalism, their opportunities to succeed and even fail, for a far more socialistic society.  People cheer him as his slick tongue proposes to take their hope for the future away through more taxes, more government control, and everyone guaranteed everything they need and want.

He is a smooth talking, used car salesman selling us a used Edsall...and the Dems and liberals and feminists are quivering with giddy enthusiasm.  It's sad.

I am 40 years old and a Military veteran living in the South. Demographically, I should be a Republican, but I'm not.

I think that Obama will be our next president and that he will make a positive step towards restoring America's status in the world.

And don't sell Obama short. I think he'll do a wonderful job for the next 8 years.
