Question:

What do you think about organic and fairtrade clothing?

I really like the idea of organic clothes. I hate thinking about my body absorbing pesticides through fabric that has been sprayed. Definitely a plus to not have my clothes made by slave labor as well. Feels better on the conscience. Been looking through a lot of websites lately. Best I've come up with so far is http://www.theokobox.com/ . Anybody else have one they'd like to share?

  1. I all for both fair trade and organic clothing.

Remember, your most powerful vote when it comes to ethics is sadly not your electoral one but your monetary ones. So vote wisely each any every dollar you spend because they count big time. Believe me, even a small market shift will create movement. Movement in which much suffering can be alleviated.

    Peace and Blessings : )

It'll be a fine day indeed when fairtrade is the norm...

  3. I think they're a great idea, however they are still too hard to find and are quite expensive. There are a lot of people out there that would love to be able to buy organic clothing however they can't afford it. And second of all, people working in slave labor can't get any other job rather than working like this. Sure they barely get paid and aren't treated well but its either they get the job or they don't get any job at all. If they get the job, they might get some money as to keep alive. If they don't get any job at all, then they'd be more likely to starve.

  4. I like the idea also, both the organic and (especially) the fair trade part. As of the environmental issue in general, i believe reduce*, reuse, recycle (in that order!) is the answer to our problems. Check out:

  5. I think it's a fantastic idea.

There should be more places selling fair trade stuff.

and  helping out people from other countries.

going to a school in the hills is fantastic because there are quite a few fair trade shops in the area.

  6. Nah, don't have a website I'd like to share but I'm totally in agreeance with you.

And you know what else? Even though the clothes will probably go up in prices by about 15%, at least we'd have organic clothes that we know aren't made by slaves hey?

And in the end, we're all one. Like, german shepards and jack russells are different, yet we still call both of them dogs, don't we? So why are humans any different? What I'm trying to say is; we're all family, so we should all be supporting each other. Even those in Africa etc.
