  1. it's a complete joke..it's nothing more than another money making machine for some.  we need to do 100x more to prevent illness instead of focusing on the treatment, which is of course where all the money is made.

  2. Lets see, if you happen to be rich or be in the lucky percentage of people that have affordable insurance it's great.. if not, your screwed. You cannot get treatment just because you go to the ER. I know, I have been there. I laugh at these people who say that universal health care will mean more wait time to see the doctor and care will be inadequate.. I have no insurance. Yesterday, i went to the dentist. I paid $150.00 to have 1 tooth pulled.  A dentist with 20 years experience. We went over for 10 minutes which tooth to pull, He left the bad tooth in and pulled a perfectly good tooth which had nothing wrong with it. He pulled it wrong..then while trying to to get the tooth out, he did nerve damage to another perfectly good tooth. Now, i am going to have to come up with almost $3000 to have , not only the tooth out which he was supposed to pull, but the tooth which he damaged and the nerve damage is permanent.. How in the c**p that a MD get any more incompetant than that. My family MD.. if I called his office today for an appt.. He would not have an opening for 6-8 weeks. So, how do people think that universal health care care coverage will cause imcompetant doctors and longer wait time.. is beyond me.. and you know what.. I would rather wait 3 months to get a non emergency surgery and know I don't have to come up with $20,000 to pay for it then to know that I will be in pain for the next 50 years because I can't afford to have it at all. My friend has a daughter dying of cancer. Her bill is in the millions of dollars. They will lose EVERYTHING fighting for her life just because a few people dont' want to pay a few extra taxes to pay for health care and her parents..they both work.

our healthcare system is a joke. If you are NOT rich, you are better off dead.. that's what are treated like.

  3. If you get into a car accident, you know that you are within minutes of a team of experts who will respond and provide emergency medical attention, including advanced life support, prevent further injury and if needed will get a helicopter equipped similar to an intensive care unit.  You will then be wisked to a hospital were specialists, will treat you and more than likely you will survive.

In most of the rest of the world, if you survive, you'd be scooped up by some good samaritan, plopped into the back of a pickup, with no treatment, rushed to a local town, where you may see a doc in less than 24 hours, then if you manage to survive be sent several miles to a local hospital, that may not be equipped to treat you.

I'd say we have it pretty good.

  4. Expensive, but the best in the World.

  5. Its good. They don't deny people care.

  6. It's much better than socialized heath care like they have in Canada and Germany. Haveing lived in both places I could not waite to come back home for doctors appointments. In Germany they are rationing coverage and turning to euthenasia as a treatment option. In Canada they are out sourceing patients to the U.S. and running lotteries for doctors appointments.

This country can not afford socialized medicine. Vote NOBAMA 08

  7. Terrible.  The US does deny people care.  Yes, people get EMERGENCY treatment, but they get no free treatment to prevent emergencies.

Which is probably why the US has one of the western worlds highest death rates for kids aged under five, despite spending more money on healthcare PER PERSON than any other country in the world.

Do not get me wrong, the care is brilliant, when you get it.  it is getting it that is the problem.

  8. If you work for a living and PAY for your health care instead of relying on the government to provide it for you, it's GREAT! The alternative is what Canada and Cuba have. Despite Michael Moore and his garbage propaganda, these systems are dismal failures. I don't want my government to be responsible for my health care because they are unable to operate a single simple program without corruption and inefficiency.

  9. If you don't have insurance, not so good.

If you have insurance, it's incredibly good.  I can call my doctor in the morning and probably see him that same morning or at least in the afternoon, with a minimal office wait of maybe 30 to 45 minutes.

I had an elective day surgery done.  Treatment was prescribed one day, and the surgey was done fast and efficiently one morning a week later.

You cannot get that treatment in nations with socialized medicine.  Simply surgeries, even critical ones, can have waiting lists in the weeks, months, and sometimes years.

  10. It is one of the worst. People and children are uninsured. They end up having to go to an ER of a hospital with critical conditions. We do our homeless, disabled as second rate citizens. Why can't everyone be covered so they can have a preventive care, and primary care, before they end up in ER? Is it because we think that we are better than some people because we can work, or have plenty of money? We need an universal health care system that provides good, quality care for all citizens of America.

  11. IT SUCKS. ITS OVERPRICED, OF POOR QUALITY, PREJUDICIAL, A BUREAUCRATIC NIGHTMARE, AND IN DIRE NEED OF A MAJOR OVERHAUL. IT IS CONTROLLED BY BUREAUCRATIC NONSENSE. THE FIRST THING THAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DO IS TO SIGN PAPERS THAT, IF YOUR INSURANCE DOESN'T PAY, YOU WILL. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY SERVICE WITHOUT THAT.
