I am a pizza delivery driver and I am constantly reading negative comments about drivers. I get tired of people acting like all drivers are stupid or stoners and people saying that drivers don't deserve a tip.

I just want your opinion on what you think we do at work. I think their is a misconception and I just want to find out for sure.

Thanks

  1. i'm glad y'all are out there .... my jelly belly thanks all of you

  2. Drivers work hard. I mean you have deadlines and all. My husband and I always tip drivers well - defintely don't make negative comments.  You have an important job!

  3. I find that a lot of them are stupid losers. It's true. Why beat your car up to deliver pizzas? Just find a job as a waiter. I'm not impressed by many of them, honestly. A lot of them look like basement dwellers.

  4. i love pizza delievery drivers, especially the cute girls when u can get them to come in for "extra service" :)

  5. I think they are hysterical (in a good way) and do an amazing job i mean seriously let the people complain because you guys are the reason they can sit there on there lazy butts and get pizza delivered right to their door!!! I say thank you to all pizza delivery people out there!!!

  6. well think of it like this babes order pizzas ur hand deliver them to there door and get to see us in our skimpy pj's and they invite u in and give u some action!! lol well it's a good job if ur hott! =]

  7. Professionals of ALL occupations, regardless of social / salary stature, must look beyond the negative stereotypes and focus more on their passion for their work---which is the key to success in ANY field.  You might not attain anywhere near millionaire status---but one doesn't have to be to be successful.

I know mega millionaires who are unhappy because their $$$$ failed to make them happy, so be a lesson learned.

In the case of pizza delivery drivers, these people deserve far more credit than they're given:

    1) They're low salaried workers, working full throttle to make a decent day's pay---erstwhile making their bosses sevenfold wealthy.

    2) They hop in their vehicles and sometimes drive into crime infested neighborhoods---where they're marked for burglary, carjacking....or worse.  In fact, some pizza delivery drivers have died on the job because of this glaring fact.

    3) They oftentimes work under pressure: driving miles, sometimes through horrendous traffic---just to get the customer their pizza.  And how they dread the Holidays, where they balance the opportunity to make great in tips with the already inherit risks of example two---adding the risk of injury in traffic accidents.

    4) Cut the pizza delivery person a break:  Given all the above factors, these people have to put on one helluva friendly front, given their pressures, with even more added personal pressures (espicially those with families to support), while doing the tough job they do.  And you thought YOUR job was stressful.......

    5) And given our victimization at the ever rising gas pump, it's expected pizza delivery drivers likely won't be called upon much during this period of recession.  Stop and really consider the pressures these people face, just to serve you.

Tip and tip well, for pizza delivery people do a lot more work and face far greater risks on the job than you realize.

  8. I'm with you all the way. I know a delivery person. They have to get out in all kinds of weather, just to see that you have a hot pizza. They get stuck in the mud sometimes and have to call a wrecker. They have to pay for this, you don't. Have a little compasion for them. They wouldn't be doing this type of job if they didn't really need the money. You want to do it? I think you'd rather be home with your family, watching TV, drinking a beer etc. If you can't give them a decient tip I say go to town and pick it up yourself! My friend delivered a pizza and the man came out of the house in his underwear. Had a huge house, a new Cadillac in the driveway and told him he thought he should pay for it. Said he had a fancier car. He only had a PT Cruiser. My friend asked him do you want the pizza or not?  The guy pulled a wad of money out and gave him $20. The bill was $19.99. My friend asked him if he wanted the penny change. He said "No put it in that fancy car of yours". Isn't this so sick? He only got a penny tip for his trouble? People are so unfeeling towards another human being. They should place theirselves in the other persons shoes. Maybe they need to go to church.

  9. Im very proud that i have someone who can deliever myself a pizza.

when i was on a broken leg, i couldnt bake/cook anything because i didnt have the energy. i called  the delievery guy and he brought it too me nice and warm :)

he even helped me get it into the house!

I always tip them over that what im supposed to.

    Thanks for delivering my pizza!

  10. they're creepy because they know where you live, but typically they're REALLY good-looking.  i give tips

  11. Well I do appreciate a pizza and a delivery guy who are both hot. True I have gotten that and neither one was very bright. So as long as the pizza is hot and it took under an hour then I tip and am as respectful and friendly as possible.

  12. i live in new york, our delivery boys work through holidays, nights, snow storms, downpours and all other types of days/ weather when we- the customers- do not want to step foot outside.  they go through the hard work of keeping our gluttonous bellies full.

needless to say we appreciate them for it and tip accordingly.

  13. everyone has thier opinion. most of the delivery guys we get are very friendly and just because the restaurant messed up the order they shouldnt take it out on the pizza guy. you know the saying  "dont kill the messenger"

  14. The problem is this:  I just want the pizza delivered hot, I feel that all pizza establishments should place the pizza in an insulated container while still hot; and it should be transported by the driver while in this container and not removed from the same until arrival at my residence.  Many out there are interested in some sort of sexual fantasy relationship with the "pizza guy", but, frankly, all I want is the pizza I am paying usually a bundle for delivered hot.  Remember this:  Some like it hot.

As for tipping:  I always tip, deserved or otherwise.
