  1. Absolutely vital. Why is so much stuff not recycled - e.g. expanded polystyrene foam - manufacturers should be forced to take back the stuff they produce to recycle it - not to rely on local authorities having to dispose of it. If they produce 1000 tonnes of plastic packaging - then they take 1000 tonnes back of it - never mind sorting out which is theirs - just any 1000 tonnes! The argument that it will make goods too expensive to buy don't hold water - we are paying for it in our council taxes instead!!

  2. Recycling is good  Pollution is  awfu;l...   Yes I think everyone should recycle as much as possible and  keep pollution to a minmum.  Big help would  be to not be so selfish...   Forget about foreign holidays  and flying   Holiday in home country.  Go by coach or train .... Reduce all air travel by at least   50%   ;

  3. Unfortunately recycling does seem to be an excuse for major industries to produce more. I work in recycling but still find it distasteful at times. The vast majority of paper/cardboard etc has to transported to the plant by heavy vehicle. Then loaded into containers for shipment before being transported by heavy vehicle to the ports. Then shipped to China. How much energy is expended in that process? It is a vicious circle that we as consumers can reduce. Collectively we can help. Just don't give up.

  4. i think we all need to recycle as much as we can and use are cars a little less than we actually do to all do our bit...problem is not everyone is willing to do there fair share

  5. pollution is awful - yet its us that causes it and recycling should be a last resort, we should reduce and re use before we even think about recycling which causes unnecessary pollution too. eg. glass bottles and jars - taken to big glass dump, moved around by big diggers, crushed up, melted down and made into ------  glass bottles and glass jars again!!!!

  6. The Earth is your home. Would you throw garbage around your house? Certainly not. Recycling doesn't help much (as there is no demand for recyclables) but you should go green as much as you can. Not only is it trendy, it's good for you, and the rest of us, too!
