  1. a land of misery and opportunists  with an ego and envy from the rest of the world  bigger than the Empire State Building

  2. Spain, despite many comments on Yahoo Answers, is still a foreign country. A very foreign country.

The locals expect, ( no, demand!), that you integrate and learn Spanish. Otherwise they will treat you like a tourist and ignore you socially

Spain is becoming very expensive and household shopping costs are rocketing despite the low official price index increases. Bread, chicken, and rabbit have all increased substantially in the last few months. Meat is expensive. Salaries have not kept pace. Do not discuss house prices.

The real Spain is only 100 metres from the roadside.

Driving has improved dramatically thanks to stricter drink and drive rules and a points system for serious infringements. A new law which jails people for serious speeding is about to begin.

The countryside is beautiful in many parts of the country; the beaches great; the mountains high. The food is great in most regions and has not given in to the revolting tastes of the average tourist. Spanish food is still Spanish. If you don't like hake lips, sheep's heads, pigs' cheeks, ears and feet, calves' noses, and so on.....don't eat them.

I like it so much I live here.

    .

  3. I think we are the best

but i am spanish... what can i say heheh

  4. Lived here for 11 years.and would never go back. trouble is there are too many english coming here , expecting  the locals to speak english and make it how they want it.( eg .chip shops and pubs).Yes this is a foreign country and, If you want to live in a foreign country,  you should make the effort to intregrate...otherwise , what is the point?...Thats why most of the brits that move over here  have  " The fish and chip brigade" label. (we are not all like that). As for the language..I have noticed when recently visiting the UK, that there are now a lot more foreigners living there now.....They dont expect the English to speak their language do they? Some Brits should be ashamed of themselves.

  5. I was stationed in Spain for two years and loved it.  I was in Rota, Spain.  The country side and small villages were beautiful.  I took all the tours the Navy base offered.  I had gone to a bull fight which I did not care for.  I almost left after the first bull died.  I have been to running of the bulls, standing on the sidelines of course.  Been to the Feria.  The people are great.  I know near a base there is crime but if you go out further in the country everything changes.  I would love to go back.   The week between Palm Sunday and Easter is something to see.  When they carry the statues and walk through the streets.  If I had the money I would most certainly go back for a visit.  Luckily while serving in the Navy I got to see alot of the country.  A must  to see is Madrid, Cordoba and the town where the Alhambra is.  Also went south and see the Rock of Gibraltar and Northern Africa (Tangies).  Loved it in Spain.

  6. I love it people are so kind and the culture is so nice

  8. one of the best places to be.

  9. I´ve lived in Spain for two years. It´s a great country, I love the people, the culture, the food and the weather, but most of all how friendly everyone is once you get to know them.

To have good neighbours you have to be a good neighbour.

  10. it's difficult to make end meets.
