  1. I love volleyball, that is a new way to approach it, put a little spice into it!

  2. I suppose it's just as entertaining as street hockey...I foresee lots of injuries.

  3. Well, it would be a sucky game. Who would want to dig?

Volleyball is fun to watch its self.

  4. omg that would be so awesome. but i would just warn you to get people who know how to play because we dont want a group of street volleyball players to be playing a game of gym volleyball. =]

  5. I thought of that idea too.  360 spikes, using feet to set the ball. maybe we should get together and start a street volleyball team.

  6. I play street volleyball and i think its a little okay cause there are no rules and no serving and all that..

  7. I think street volleyball would be awesome!  Another cool thing they could do is to make it in a room like a raquetball court and have the net go all of the way to the walls so that you can hit it off the walls intentionally and there is no out of bounds, the only way  play stops is if the ball hits the floor.  What'a think?

  8. well it could either be really entertaining and painful, or it could be boring because everyone would be afraid of diving to get the ball...lol...i know i wouldnt play it, and volleyball is my all time favorite sport, but that just sounds painful...lol

  9. Certainly some mixed reviews.  There is in fact a game called wallyball that is played inside a racquetball court and has it's own rules about how many times the ball can hit the wall.

I think you're talking about high level players adding some flare to the game.  There's certainly room for it.  Especially if the rules are bent a bit in as in street ball.  I think the biggest application would be running crazy offensive plays, but with more people involved.  Like a setter that is allowed to carry the ball a little longer in order to run a three/four hitter "X."  Or an additional touch allowed so a hitter could go up to hit the ball and tap it to another hitter that's in the air.

However, there isn't too much room to get flashy with only three instantaneous contacts.  Sure you'll see some flashy passing and interesting contacts, but the essence of street ball is in the crazy jukes/dunks/alley oops.  So the vball rules would have to be bent to allow for aeriel maneuvers.

I could be totally off your point though.  Are you just talking about fancy play like 360 blocks and chest digs?
