  1. It's a stupid idea - are they expecting people to just all of a sudden root for that team? -

If they continue with the plan they should get a Tassie team!

  2. I think its $hit :(

  3. RIP 2 Vic based teams.

Richmond, Bulldogs, Melbourne?  Any clues, anyone?

  4. I don't think they should create two new teams & locate them in Qld & NSW - I'd rather see Collingwood & Carlton relocated to those states!

  5. If you live in Western sydney and you like AFl, you will more then likely already go for the swans. You can't just drop your team. I liive in Northern Sydney, If they put a team on the North shore, I would not go for them, if they put one based in my suburb, I still wouldn't go for them. I am Sydney swans fan through and through.

  6. It's good, let's face it Victorian teams as a whole haven't exactly been successful in the modern era with the exception of Nth melbourne who won 3 premierships and even they were trying to get bumped up to Gold Coast. If Victoria wants to keep as many teams as it has then it must come up with 1/2 the premierships and at the moment I think it has only won 1/4 since the early nineties so they should only have 1/4 of the number of teams

  7. Two Things Could Happen, 1. The New Team Become A Training Camp For The Next Generation Of Swans. Or

    2. Both Teams Compete For The Best Players That Sydney Can Offer And Neither Ends Up With A Strong Team. Both Options Suk. I Think TC Has A Point Give The New Teams To Some Place They Don't Already Have One And Make Aussie Rules A Truly National Game!

  8. send collingwood and carlton there

    that woulkd be so cool.,.,..,,.lol

  9. Who cares anymore, the AFL doesn't listen to the fans anymore they do what they think will get them more money, and to them two more teams will top the TV rights to over 1 billion, so I say stuff the AFL until they start listening to all us fans and not the corporates.

  10. stupid idea we dont need any more teams in the AFL. the interstate teams we have already are bad enough...

  11. Im not liking it at all. I think they should just leave it at 16 teams. i think they'res guna be a lot of rivalry between the 16 existing clubs and the two new ones.

  12. it's a ridiculous idea it's going to stuff football for two years getting them settled in and even then they will not work. Who is going to support them? they are better off putting in a tassie side.

  13. Bad move. There is not enough talent to field new teams. Some rosters already show the lack of class available. It makes more sense to drop teams so that the competition remains high.

  14. WHAT ABOUT TASSIE??????????

  15. Its a good thing but the only problem is these clubs will recieve lots and lots of funding from the afl and other clubs will loose vital players due to the fact that the new clubs will offer more money. It will be unfair to the clubs we have now hopefully the players will be loyal but everyone wants more money.

  16. it's stupid

the draws are gunna be weird

the off season will be too short

itz going to make the finals series harder

and in nsw and qld they are more into rugby anyway

they all love their state of origin as much as victorians love our 10 teams of footy

It'll definately put more pressure on the already struggling vic clubs

    Andrew Demitriou is an idiot

  17. I'm with Romper Stomper - Why should Tassie have to adopt Hawthorn as their Team.  Their Premier is right behind them having a local team, its the AFL. that won't allow them to have their own.  For a little state Aussie Rules is played all over, They have a Southern League, a Northern League and a North-West Coast league too I believe.

There's plenty of talent in Tassie.  Give them a go!!!

  18. Its good, creates more competition and a bigger market. But overall, I doubt they'll be very competitive in the beginning. Surely they would have to poach some players from teams already establlished. I wonder who they will be...?

  19. it hasn't happened yet, i think they are insane, where the teams are to be based. west Sydney WILL NOT work, they will prop these two sides up as they have with Sydney and Brisbane.  why not help a tassie side for a start, they love their Aussie rules down there.

  20. How about we propose AFL teams for areas where there are no bright lights and supermodels, for example Broome and Devonport.

The players can develop their careers with no distractions and the locals LURRRRVE AFL.

They would probably win the flag....!

I think I must have been slipped some of what Carey takes!
