What do you think about the 911 truthers?

I read several of their theories and have seen some of the videos and they seem to be logical. These are some of the things I kept in mind.

1. * 1535ºC (2795ºF) - melting point of iron

* ~1510ºC (2750ºF) - melting point of typical structural steel

2. Jet fuel burns at 800º to 1500ºF, not hot enough to melt steel (2750ºF).

3. Untill 911, there has never been a building that collapsed perfectly straight down. On 9-11, there were three.

OK, Joe, Combine the jet, jet fuel and everything in the building. A very normal house fire can reach temperatures of over 2000º . A metal building full of fuel and a jet liner would probably hit 3000º  maybe more.

So, now that we know the fire was more than hot enough to crack the concrete supports and melt the steel support beams. You have to take a look at the fact that when those things have happened it mean that the building can no longer support its own weight and it falls.

3) You're mistaken, Most buildings that are demoed fall into their own footprint. Granted its usually one side first and then the other, but they still fall straight down.

The third tower lost strength and was under minded because of the water from the twin towers and also the pounding form the two falling. It became unsafe to keep up so it was brought down.

And simply saying that jet fuel burns to those tempuratures means nothing. That is the fuel, but what about the building, plane, and fuel together in a massive collision at such a speed as an aircraft in flight? You are leaving out a lot of needed information to formulate a conclusion. To me, popular mechanics has a lot more credibility than some 35 year old conspiracy theorists who do not have training and years of college education that specialize in their field... sorry, but 9/11 happened, it was an act of war, and no amount of denial can change reality.

Add: What about building 7???!!! I hear people ask that all the time. Well, what about when a fire is ripping through a neighborhood, and it spreads from one house to another, but then the other houses around are untouched? The fire could have jumped (along with HEAVY pieces of debris) from one of the Twin Towers, causes a fire within the building, weakening the structure and subsequently, the building was destroyed that way...

If 9/11 was an inside job, there would be more than fantastic theories and there would be some substance, not YouTube videos and theories to back up these claims. I'm sorry, but IF it had been this big, orchestrated plot, we would know.

1) While it is true that the melting point of Steel is 2750F, the official NIST report says that steel on 911 did not melt. In fact, the official NIST report says that the steel lost structural integrity due to the heat. Steel loses 50% strength at 1100F; the fires inside the towers burned as hot as 1800F.

2) The buildings did NOT fall perfectly straight. In fact, they found a great deal of debris spread within a 16-acre site from the towers.

3) Although the WTC7 (or the 3rd trade center as you put it) did not directly get struck by a plane, it took a good portion of the falling debris from the falling Twin Towers. An observing fireman that was operating in the WTC7 even stated that about 23%-25% of the side of the building was essentially "gutted" from the falling debris. After the debris hit, fires started and spread thoughout the building until the building lost structural integrity and collapsed.

4) The statement that "the other buildings next to [the towers] were untouched," is wrong (no offense). Over 20 of the surrounding buildings were severly damaged, and 8 were either damaged beyond repair or were destroyed (example: St. Nicholas Church).

The "911 truthers" are an assortment of fools, liars, and frauds.

(1) I'll accept without proof. It doesn't matter.

(2) I'll accept the numbers. They don't matter. Heat weakens steel a long time before it melts.

(3) Three is downright false. Imploded buildings often collapse nearly "perfectly" straight. The twin towers did not collapse "perfectly" straight. I don't know about a 3rd building.

The 911 truthers you refer to are either liers or ignorant of physics/engineering.   Steel doesn't have to melt in order to fail. As metals heat up, they lose their strength.  Concrete losses its strength as it is heated up and water is driven out. BTW a while back, but after 9/11, there was a tanker on fire under a bridge in CA and the news report stated that officials were worried about the bridge collapsing. There has been no information as to how and why World Trade Building 7 fell and what happened to all of the videos on the attack on the Pentagon.

Why has the mainstream media not have a program with both sides to discuss it in terms that people understand to dispel rumors,misinformation,and ignorance?

According to gossip sites with members who are legitimate engineers and scientist are under surveillance by the FBI and other intelligence services from the US to allies.

There are many that fear the truth of allowing this to happen due to politics.

It's pretty straight forward.

No need for blinding with science, anyone with an elementary grasp of Newtonian Physics can see, without any fancy calculations, that the buildings could not have collapsed as they did without an added ingredient, to the plane strike and fire.

I haven't read other answers yet, but will treat them with respect, and see if anyone makes sense of the official story.
