  1. i would suggest that you become a commercial pilot but get a degree in something else, because if you don't like whats happening you can always change. that's what i am trying to do right now. (but keep in mind that it is expensive to become a pilot)

  2. If you want to be a pilot... go for it.  It can be a rough career, but it's worth it (it has been for me anyway).

As for the degree... get a degree in something outside of aviation as a fallback in case your career doesn't work out like planned.  The pilot positions that do require a degree do not require it in any specific subject.  Get a degree in whatever you want.  If your only interest is aviation, then do it-- but if you have any interest in anything else-- english lit, business, art, whatever-- get a degree in that.  You won't regret it.

  3. Commercial Pilot--good career choice.

    Aeronautics/Professional Pilot--not a good degree choice.

  4. You will do better to get a degree in science, math, or engineering, or in a backup career field (for example, management or accounting).

Airlines and big charter companies don't mention it, but they like to hire people with accounting degrees and flight experience as pilots.  It's a shot at Chief Pilot or one of the top paying management jobs.

Accountants make good pilots:  They are detail oriented, up on their current knowledge, and good at following directions.

    Good luck!
