What do you think about the Chinese not allowing the young singer's face to be shown?

The pretty, young girl who was shown singing in the opening ceremony at the Beijing Olympic Games was only there because of her beauty. Another young girl was singing behind the scenes. Just because she is not considered to be pretty, was it right that she could not be the one to be shown singing the song? I think it was very immoral, in bad taste, and not fair to the girls or the audience.

  1. give me a break. how many Hollywood actress do their own stun? how many model pictures you saw are the original picture with out editing? how often do you hear music that is with out addition of sound effect?

this only shows that china is starting to learn the western HOLLYWOOD cultural.

did i forgot to mention why more and more super models are getting plastic surgery? and it seems that it's also starting to get popular in china.

under the name of the show, both girls name are reported as girl A and girl B. the organizer of the event also told the reporter that they used two girls, one for singing and one for performing. why else do you think the media manage to find it out? at least they told the truth after the show.

  2. The switch was a last-minute decision by a single, powerful Politburo member. Nobody else agreed with him, but he forced through the decision and now he looks like a cruel fool in front of the world. Shows how much he knows (as well as the structural weakness of despotic power).

  3. Please stop asking the same question over and over again. True, it is morally wrong, bad taste, whatever you can think of... but that's all, no big deal. It's only a performance, not a singing contest, and hence nothing so-called unfair to the audience. It's cruel that not-so-pretty face was not allowed to perform, but that's real life, look at those famous celebrities ... are they plain looking? Do you see any ugly actor/actress portrayed as prince/princess?

  4. it is good... who wants to look at an ugly little chinese girl anyway?

  5. Obviously it wasn't right and I think it would've been better if the real singer was on stage. Both girls were gorgeous in my opinion, but it's just sad that appearance has to do with everything.

However, I've read a lot of comments by people on youtube about that and it seems everyone is blaming China, as a whole country. Isn't that hypocritical? Why not blame the person who came up with this lame idea? I mean, obviously it's not the doing of all 1.3 billion Chinese.

  6. i don't think it is that big a deal.  sure, it is not a good thing, but it is common in the entertaining field.   this types of things are happening everyday in hollywood.

the sad part is, western medias and people are using the other girl as a weapon against China...

China could have handled this in a better way.  but if u look at the information booklet of the opening ceremony, the other girl's name(singing girl) was on the booklet.
