The Red Sox unloaded Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers in a three-way deal that sent Jason Bay from the Pirates to Boston. Me being a Yankee fan am really excited, Manny was the heart of the Boston offense and now I have a feeling they are going to fall.

  1. The Dodgers are the winners in this deal. Of course, they got the best clutch hitter in the league, and the Dodgers don't have to pay the remainder of his salary ($7 million). To add icing to the cake, they only gave up 2 average minor league players. It's no gurantee ManRam will sign with the Dodgers next season since part of the deal was that no team can pick up his option next season, but if he can make an immediate impact they can win the NL West. Andruw Jones has been a bust for the Dodgers, so having ManRam along will be great for the Dodgers.

  2. Well if your a yankee fan you are lucky because manny was very goof at offense. Dodgers are lucky because they got someone who can improve their line up. If your a boston fan well its a win lose situation you won because you finally got manny to shut up but you lost a very good hitter. Overall I think boston is not going to have a chance even at the wild card because of this choice

  3. As much as the Red Sox were fed up with him, I had a feeling this was just another episode of Manny being Manny. He has done this many times in the past.

Even if getting rid of him was inevitable, this trade was a last minute panic  trade by Theo. Jason Bay is not the player Manny is or was, and the pressure he is going to get in Boston is going to be too much for him to handle.

  4. Personally, I wish he'd been traded to Iraq. Afterall, he did say last week that he could play there. Too bad somebody didn't take his words to heart and send him there. Geez, the man is almost as nasty and surly as Bonds is. The only problem I have with the trade is that now he'll be beating up on my Reds with regularity. But then, who doesn't...?

  5. jason bay has always been a good player but he's nowhere close to manny's numbers and clutch performances. i don't know if they can really win the division anymore. the rest of the AL contenders can breathe a sigh of relief since one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball is off to the NL. the dodgers needed hitting help and they surely got it. andruw jones has been pretty bad, so ramirez should provide them with timely hitting. it's ironic that joe torre, former yankees skipper, will be teaming up with manny.

  6. It is good for all three teams

  7. With all the prospects Pittsburg is getting sure looks like their future looks good.  Manny can now be Manny being Manny in Hollywood.

  8. I agree totally with you.  I can't believe they actually traded him.  He was being too much of an egoistic star.  Now, he can help the dodgers overcome the dbacks in the sucky NL west.  Im actually quite excited.  As a yankees fan, manny did a alot of damage towards us.  Now we don't have to deal with it.

  9. am dodgers fan am happy but we got alot of outfielders.

  10. I'm a Angels fan so i really don't care .

Manny going to a team that pays big

money for players that do nothing so

its a great deal for Manny.

  11. The red sox gave up so much for nothing jason bay will never be nearly as good as manny. The Dodgers were the clear winner in this trade.

  12. same here im a yankkes fan

  13. I hope manny shuts up now, it's starting to get old.

  14. I'm buying a Dodger hat.

  15. As a Dodgers fan I am happy the Dodgers got him. People talked about the Yankees not making it to october I not sure The Red Sox will make it

  16. I don' t know how long Pittsburg can keep this up.  Great trade for Boston.

  17. I have answered this question a few times already, but yes as a Yankee fan, Boston now has some rebuilding to do. Without that impact bat...(sounds kinda like the Angels the last couple years)...they are no longer going to be feared. They will finish 3rd behind Tampa. The Rays will not win the east. I am sorry but it just wont happen!
