  1. Malta is a beautiful small island. Very safe, still cheaper than most other European countries. There are temples older then the pyramids, and the capital city of Valletta was built by the Knights of Malta. All the history you could want. Cheap transportation takes you all over the island. The whole population speaks English. There's even an area called Paceville that caters to young reverlers.  There are some nice beaches but not as many as you would expect on an island. If you are looking for total peace and relaxation hop a ferry ride (20 minutes) to the sister island of Gozo. Worth a trip, you won't be disappointed.!

  2. Visited Malta last year in spring and liked it a lot. The capital Valletta, the old historic buildings, the food, the night life, the very nice people and the possibility to take sea trips, for instance to Sicily, which is not so far away, but also sea cruises near Malta. The beaches are quite rocky, but it did not bother me. I can recommend Malta, it´s indeed worth a visit! Malta is really quite a beautiful sea pearl in the Mediterranean!

The only thing you should avoid, is to go there  in the summer, because it can be really HOT then.
