My theory has been she got so drunk she wandered out to sea and drown and probably got eaten by sharks.

It's a shame they can't get enough evidence to prosecute that Swedish guy.  He admitted to a friend that he and another friend took her body out to sea and threw it over board.

She was with the two guys on the beach.  Most likely overdosed on coke.  A third friend got a boat, went out to sea with her and threw her into the ocean.

Her own friends said she willingly got into the car with those guys.  So it's not like she is a totally "innocent" victim.  From what I heard, the guys did admit she died (my guess is from drinking too much) and that they got rid of her body at sea.
