  1. It was a good speech, but we will need to have a speech by McCain that will share his vision on where he wants to take this country if elected.

  2. Clear, concise, to the point and brilliantly delivered. She makes Obama look like he has a speech impediment.

  3. I saw Sarah's performance and was not impressed an inch. She praised Mccain and gave a generic stump speech and attacked the Democrats and pretty much lied about Barack's economic policies. Sarah also seemed a lttle pissed and jealous over our convention and the colums. That is really irrelevant but she had very little of substance to talk about. The only thing i got from Sarah is that she and Mccain are out of touch and are on the wrong side of the issues and I could not be any more elated and confident that Obama and Biden are the right choice. I also believe Palin message may have resonated with the republican base but was ineffective in rallying the independent voters, who's support is critical.

  4. It was written by Bush's speech writer and had the same divisive tone. Even I was expecting more substance, not just snide attempts at sarcasm. WIth soldiers dying in Iraq and our economy in the toilet, she needed a more presidential and inclusive tone.

  5. awful, simply attacked Obama and democrats repeatedly, no substance of her own, selling a plane on ebay = legislative experience? basically it looked like a room of hicks roaring every time she bashed Obama, a waste of time preaching to the quire, and turning Obama into a punching bag.

her executive experience they've been touting about is being mayor for 20 months of a city of 9000 people, spending 15 mil to build a hocky ring, and leaving the city in debt debt? and this women can potentially be president, Im horrified at the stupidity of my country.

  6. Hillary.... kiss my red, white and blue ***! McCain/Palin 2008!

  7. They are conflicting. Sounds good at its delivery, but when you analyze it, oh God, it is conflicting.

  8. i didnt see the whole thing but i thought it was beating down obama a lot and didnt really talk about what she wanted to do. it seemed more like a pep talk about mccain = good and obama=bad. but maybe she said things more interesting after i stopped watching

  9. No presidential material. Too many snide remarks, not enough substance on policy.

  10. horrible..she seems like a teenage girl whining about some guy.

she had nothing substaital to say except make fun of columns at the convention...how hocky moms are pit bulls..

just cheap shots that make them look stupid.

mccain is using her and she looks like a huge idiot.

  11. Mo H couldn't have said it any better. While I was watching her speech, I just couldn't stay interested. I kept waiting to hear specifically what changes she plans on making and only heard attacks on Obama and Biden. She got borderline nasty with her smart remarks towards Obama and Biden. I just don't see what the big deal is about her and why the media and everyone is praising her speech so much! It definitely had no substance!

  12. It was a poor speech. She sounded like she was reading from a book most of the time.

  13. I have to say Palin speech was really well done, she connected really well. Will be interesting, honestly both Republicans and Democrats have things to worry about.

Some areas where I was confused with Palin

-Palin seemed really confident that Obama is going to raise taxes. I guess she didn't listen to his speech because he clearly quoted and actually repeated that he will LOWER taxes, where Palin got the idea of him raising taxes I am not sure.

    - Palin discussed about fighting lobbyists, interesting point is that McCain actually has a history with dealing with lobbyists, so I found that contradictory to what she represents.

    - Palin also stressed that Obama never fought for reform.. then surely she would know McCain never pushed for reform either, and in addition her Republican colleagues are far from her own view as well..Guiliani, Romney, etc all pushed for reform? lets just say I would give a 1000 sterling for anyone who proves me wrong.

    - Republicans really narrowed the perspective here, she never even discussed anything regarding the economy which in my opinion is a high as priority as keeping America safe. I find it remarkable that such an important issue was ignored, the decline of the US dollar, staggering debt, depending of foreign nations to carry our debt just to be sustainable and etc.

    - Palin discussed the terrorists and enemies of the US, but do you Republicans know that because of George Bushes foreign policies we have more enemies than before. Republicans foreign policy of "policing" the world has hurt Americas standing in the world, and here she is along with the Republican party attacking Obama and the Democrats as if the Democrats were responsible for the whole mess.

"Before America to become strong abroad, it MUST first be strong at home" Bill Clinton.

    - Another topic regarding Palins speech where I found hard to follow is the Republicans wanting to drill more at home and especially more in Alaska, what happened to getting rid of dependence of oil. Do you know how much it costs to drill oil along with the equipment, what happened to more investments in green energy. Surely you can figure out where I am going with this.

So Republicans, how does Palin appeal to you? if you say because shes a highly educated woman with a family , then I would have to place you with the other uneducated people that represent majority of the Republican voters (that my friends is an actual fact, it is not an insult).

IF ANYONE can rebuttal my points then please. Or if you guys are too ignorant just keep giving me the thumbs down lol

  14. I never like the jabs at the opposing party, and feel they are unwarranted.  But I did appreciate knowing more about Obama's flip flop record, and hearing stories of McCain's strength and courage during his time as a POW.

  15. McCain Wins !!!

  16. Sarah Palin answered most if not all of the questions I had before I heard her excellent speech.  This is the "change" we need.  Country first!

  17. I really don't think anybody old enough to vote and sober, thought much of her speech. Sorry, but it was really sort of simple-minded and juvenile. Like an 8th. grade candidate for class president.

  18. Mo H for President!!!!! Beautiful, clear insight.

I'm just so surprised how popular her speech was. I think she would have been much more effective had she not taken such cheap shots at the Dems.

  19. Just excellent...This woman has what it takes to be a Vice President.  She has true grit and she is what America is all about.  She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she came from humble beginnings, and she fought her way to the top in this crazy world of politics fighting for the people of Alaska.  She will do the same for America...She will be an asset to McCain and she will energize the Republican party...I was impressed.  McCain/Palin 08
