What do you think about the Suzuki Rv125 Van Van?

I've decided to buy a 125 for riding around town and little country jaunts. This seems a pretty cool bike as opposed to the skinny yamaha ybr125 and the likes. Anyone have any experience of this bike?

  1. It is OK if you like the style of bike and you do not mind that you wont be doing the speeds picking away or going up hill  that the YBR125 and the CBR125 can do.

My BF started on the GZ marauda but it was slow to pick away etc but i heard that the Van Van is the better of the two.  With both of these bikes it is a different style of ride altogether and it does take some used to.  It is a touring bike and it looks like a hog bike so you can get an idea from that what to expect from it.

  2. There is a staff writer on motorcycle news who ran a van van for a little while and passed her test on it within the last 12 months.

She was deeply impressed with it and by all accounts were others who rode it.

I think the reason for her choosing it was the seat height being lower than the alternatives.

When it comes to 125's, something like this could be the "deal breaker" when it comes to what you get.

There is a review of the van van here

  3. Its about 80- 100 pounds heavier than a ybr yamaha 125 but puts out the same 12 bhp - which means that its probably about 10 mph slower and uses more fuel. If you put "cool" looks above speed and fuel economy - buy one.

Youre right - confusing custom VL125 suzuki.

  4. What year is it?

    The newer ones are cool.

  5. Bit more form than function in my opinion, quite cool looking though, given the choice I would look at a DT125R or similar.

EDIT: I think that you are reading too much into the rear wheel, the engine is not capable of coming close to overwhelming that contact patch nor one of half the width.
