What do you think about the Women's Sexual Liberation?

Well I probably won't be on much this evening. I'm off to spend a little quality time-playing video games lol- with the wife and nephews. So in the spirit of what this board is about I'll ask a question that will ruffle a few feathers ; ]

My wife and I have talked about this in length. She is very opinionated about this subject(among other things) She has brought up some rather interesting points and even made me reevaluate my beliefs a time or two, regarding women and s*x.

I'd like to have input from both men and women please.

  1. A lot of women today have taken it WAY too far. But I believe the original proponents of it had good intentions.

  2. Fantastic - s*x is the best.  Heres to F***ing.

  3. Shape up or ship out !!

  4. of course women should be allowed to have the same sexual freedom as men, but i'm not sure if that's all the whole "sexual freedom" thing is really about. a lot of times, people seem to be glorifying the casual s*x lifestyle as being "true freedom" and that women who don't do that are somehow oppressed. that is not how it is.

  5. I'm a believer in waiting until s*x to have marriage, so I don't like it.

Actually let me explain a little.  I don't think men or women should be going around having meaningless s*x for a number of reasons.  But making it more open to talk about it among adults is fine by me.  s*x is a part of life and I don't understand why some people want to completely block it out of the public.  I don't want to see or hear about it in explicit detail, but talking about it in basic terms shouldn't be frowned upon.  So I guess I do like one aspect of it.  Also, I don't see why we should think women shouldn't enjoy it.  Some people in my church seem to want to believe women only have s*x to procreate and to make their man happy, and anybody with a brain can tell that's a load of c**p.

  6. I don't think many people will say that it's unhealthy or bad for women to be sexually expressive. However, the option of high sexualization has given many women the opportunity to engage in extremely risky behaviours as a means of dealing with issues of self-acceptance. The sexual freedom of women may also (don't quote me on this, as it's purely speculation) have contributed to sexual victimization of women by giving the option of the "she wanted it just as much, and now regrets it" defense.

  7. Well I believe women should be able to have s*x whenever and with whomever she wants BUT that needs to be done while protected. There are too many women having babies unplanned and by different fathers anymore. There are so many forms of birth control there really is no excuse for this. And, I believe it is up to the woman to be responsible for the birth control and not to expect the man to do it. Double precaution is even better!!

  8. whats the question ??

i get it kinda but im not sure what to say,

    s*x is ok ?

  9. STD's

  10. having a pleasurable s*x life is so important to my overall happiness.  it's a good thing.

  11. What's not to like?  If you want to sleep with one man your whole life - great.  If you don't - great.  Freedom of choice is never a bad thing :-)

  12. It has been taken too far. It's okay for women to not be ashamed about their sexuality and to have s*x before marriage. However, many women took this as a sort of hippie 'free love' thing. This only denigrated the feminists movement and brought no respect to those women. There are limits to any liberation.
