My girls are wearing a chocolate skirt with a bisque color top. I am not fond of the way the brown vest looks with the black tux, the guy in the store mentioned the brown tux and my fiance thinks he will look ridiculous. Help!!!

  1. Well, black and brown are both neutrals, so, YES, they do go together. But, I do agree that there may be a better combo in trying the brown tux.  If you go with the black tux, you can have the groom wear ivory and the groomsmen wear the bisque color rather than the brown.

  2. I think TUX are elegant, but they are outdated, they were very popular in the 80s and early 90s, but not  so much in style anymore if you look carefully any bridal magazines right now you will harly find it , you will see in the magazines the groom wearing a  nice tie these days, is  more modern.

but in the end... is your day !! your decide, congrats

  3. Just attended a wedding where the colors were brown and aqua.  Very pretty.  The brown tuxes looked great.

Groom wore a white vest and tie with his tux, to match his bride's gown.  The rest of the guys wore aqua vests and aqua ties . . . to match the girls' gowns.

In your case, groom could wear an ivory vest and ivory tie with his brown tux.

  4. Brown and black don't go together. PERIOD!

  5. Brown tux sounds yucky. I think a tan suit would look better. With an off white shirt and a chocolate tie.

  6. brown tuxes are nice . google them for images.

  7. I don't even know where to start. The whole idea is so many levels of wrong.

1)A tuxedo can be black or more rarely midnight blue. In hot weather, an off-white jacket is also correct. Any other colors belong to the 1970s powder-blue/ruffled shirt school of thought.

2)The tuxedo is evening-wear, not suitable what I'm assuming is a day wedding.

3)The wedding party is not a team of circus performers. They are wearing formal clothing, not uniforms. Making the men match the women is quite unnecessary.

4)Modern rental shops only rent high-cut suit vests, not low-cut tuxedo vests. Pre-tied bow ties are just abominations.

If this is an evening wedding, stick with black tuxedos, black cummerbunds, and black bow ties.

If this is a day wedding, put the men in morning coats or stroller jackets. In this answer, written for a woman in the same predicament, I explain the details:
