Question:

What do you think about the cardinals???

Now that they have opened up with a sweep against the padres (I know they are pretty bad) they are picking up some steam and have won some games in dramatic fashion, what do you guys see them doing in the central?? With carpenter and wainwright destined to come back in a few weeks, this could get very interesting b/c they could be the freshest pitchers in the league. If they can come back and be back to form by september, things could get very interesting. I'm thinking they could use one more bat (hopefully not holliday, who has average numbers outside of coors). They have great chemistry right now though, so I dont know if you mess with that. THOUGHTS???

  1. cardinals are solid at wr. They should have a good season

  2. This thought that somehow the Brewers and the Cubs are better just because they made moves before the trading deadline is false.  Since that time the Cards have picked up ground on the Cubs and distanced themselves from the Brew Crew.  In fact, the only thing that is certain is that the Cards will be getting back two healthy pitchers and making a run like they do every year.  It's funny to me how every year people count the Cards out...the last time it happen I believe it was the Tigers who fell victim.

  3. Well actually the padres were also hitting pretty good against the cards and if they cant stop the runs against a team that is pretty bad how are they going to stop a team that is really good. They need pitchers and a bullpen.

Maybe Wild Card, but it will be hard with the Brew crew and the Cubbies.

  4. AHH. Cardinals are amazing. I have loved them foreverr. My favorite player is Jason Isringhausen. They're coming back babyyy. I don't mind if they lose the world series. I just want it to be finally 100 years of losing. (: Don't you agree?

  5. they have won five in a row now, and even against a bad team, thats not easy, considering we had to beat peavy in one of them.  h**l, the astros are in second to last place in the central, and the cubs lost 2 out of 3 against them.  They have a shot at the division, and a shot at the wildcard if something doesnt go there way, such as wainright or carpenter.

  6. Mark my words they will take the cubs.......

  7. my thoughts? wildcard for the cards!!

  8. It seems like they're just staying alive. I honestly don't think they'll make the playoffs. The Brewers and Cubs just seem like more complete teams at the moment.

But I can't underestimate Tony Larussa. Somehow, he led them to a world series in 2006. I think they should try to get Greg Maddux to strengthen the rotation or get a reliever to help out in the bullpen.

  9. They'll make the playoffs, just not win the division. The Cubs are too good, and they'll hang on. :D

    Wild Card=Cardinals

    NL Central Division Champs=Cubs

    On the outside looking in=Brewers

  10. I think they definitely need to pick-up a lefty reliever. I think Wainwright will come back starting and Carp and whichever starter Wainwright replaces will move to into the pen which will strenthen it immensely.

I think they Cards have a shot at the division because the Cubs only play 9 home games in September and they struggle on the road. While 13 of the Cards last 16 games are against below .500 teams. Looking good for Cardinal fans I think. They need to take 3 or 4 from the Brewers this week.

  11. THERE DIET IS CARDINAL c**p AND THEY SUCK CUB @$$

  12. my thoughts?  call me a pessmist but u cannot expect carpenter to come back and be as dominant as he was in 2006  but they may get the wild card   but the cubs are winning the division
